December Part A In order of appearance: Phosphor #398, Wet #382, Feather #384, Sunflower Petals #100, Vicki Day ribbon Emily's Leaves. 1. Phosphor #398 , 2 yards doubled over, loop start. This is the lighter green on the diagram. Start at top left and work down the left side. Then the 4 large cross stitches with the "space" in between the houses, 4 more large cross stitches, "space", repeat to the right and then the right side border. Watch your spacing as the houses fit inside these "space" areas symmetrically. I stitched this Phosphor first so when stitching the houses, I can hide (drag) the thread on the back behind the "space". 2. Wet #382, 2 yards doubled over, loop start. Start the houses on the left from the ground up and build the houses in a row to the right side. 3. Feather #384, 1.5 yards double over, loop start. Start on the left side and move to the right. 4. Sunflower Petals #100, 1.5 yards double over, loop start. Start at the left door of house then cross stitch for the window. Repeat across to the right and then hide the thread on the back to the top of this block. Work the darn stitch at the top across to the left side and tie off. 5. Vicki Day Silk Ribbon Emily's Leaves I started with 23 inches and only used 18 inches. Start at the lower left and work the dark green on the diagram towards the right - remember loose and flat. Then hide the ribbon on the back and stitch the top dark green on the diagram towards the left side.

December Part B In order of appearance: Cranberry Relish #214, Allie's Garden silk ribbon, Water Lilies silk ribbon, Egyptian Lapis #280, Live in the Mist #268, white perle #5 that was used in the outline.

    1. Cranberry Relish #214. Stitch each dragonfly separately. Take 24 inches of Cranberry Relish, doubled over, loop start at the tail of the first dragonfly on the left. Tent stitch the tail and upper body. 2. Allie's Garden silk ribbon You need just a short piece here for the longer oblong cross, one tent stitch and the dot head is a double wrap French Knot. If you have a left over 6-8 inch piece, use that. You can adjust the color of the ribbon that will show by an inch or two to highlight the color you want. 3. Water Lilies silk ribbon This ribbon always looked like dragonfly wings to me. Again, a short piece about 7 inches for these 4 wings, keep flat. Lock the needle on, stitch the 4 wings, tie off on back. 4. Egyptian Lapis #280 Use about 1 yard doubled over and loop start. Stitch the lower line of stitches. Tie off. 5. Live in the Mist #268 With 1.5 yards doubled over and loop start, these circles are single wrap French Knots. Zoom in to see the knot is over a vertical thread, keeping the knots in a line. Tie off. Use another 1 yard doubled over to darn the top pattern on this block. 6. Egyptian Lapis #280 Use short pieces doubled over, loop start and add the small darker stitches at the top. I stitched each of these separately. 7. White Perle #5 This is the perle white that was used in the outline. Follow the diagram and fill in using a long thread.... careful, do not disturb the silk ribbon on the back moving from one area to the next.
