Google Maps is a browser based 2D map client. It is thus a map service that you view in your web browser.

Simple Maps uses

One can search locations, businesses, user created maps.

One can use directions. Supports multiple destinations, different metric system etc.

Activate additional layers to show more info about a location: Photos, Wikipedia, Webcams, Terrain.

Use of Street View.

One can create “My Map” to describe a story.

Street View offers 360 degree panoramic views in Google Maps, Google Earth and Google Maps for Mobile. One is able to zoom, rotate and pan through street level photos of cities around the world.

1. Sign in with your Gmail credentials2. Go to the "My Maps" tab3. Let's get started!

Embedding the Map (Simple API)

1. Click on "Link".2. Select "Paste HTML to embed in website"3. You can choose to "Customize and preview

embedded map"4. Paste HTML on your site (we will use Blogger as

an example)5. Let's try it on Google Sites6. We have an API! (Simple right?)
