What does the Google drive app really do ? or how is it different from google drive on the web ?

● All that the Google drive does is create a special folder on your computer called Google drive.

So why is the Google drive folder so special ?

● What ever you put on the google drive folder keeps a copy on your local hard-disk as well as one copy on the google drive on the web.

● its a two way sync, which means whatever you put in the google drive on the web will also show up on your google drive special folder.

● Beneficial to use the new google drive folder as the new save location because it keeps a local copy and backs it up to the cloud automatically.

Pros

● Access your files from anywhere● Share massive files easily ● Unlimited storage● No software required to view files● Keep your files safe and secure

Cons

● Takes too long to backup if you have too many files.● Consumes internet bandwidth of the school.● Not ideal for storing large file types.

Most of us save our files in these locations / folders:

● Desktop● Documents● Downloads● Movies● Music● Pictures

STEP 6: SAVING IMPORTANT FOLDERS TO GOOGLE DRIVE

The sync process will take some time, especially if you have a large amount of files to copy.

You can check the status by clicking the Google Drive icon on the bottom left corner of your screen.

Check to see if the sync has been completed.If it is, all your files have been backed up

and are available online wherever and whenever you want to access them.
