Home Depot
The Home Depot is the world’s largest chain of home improvement
stores. It was started in 1978 by entrepreneurs named Bernie Marcus
and Arthur Blank. Marcus and Blank wanted their store to sell
everything a person might need for a project. Operating on a large
scale allows prices to be low. Store employees are trained experts in
home improvement. Arthur Blank owns 90% of the Atlanta Falcons.
Bernie Marcus donated $250 million to start the Georgia Aquarium.
