INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES

The training and employment of aboriginal and local indigenous

people provides defined career paths and economic benefits to the

community. Our focus is on long term, full time employment where

all employees are provided the same wage rates and conditions for

comparable work.

We actively participate in building careers for our local and

surrounding communities. We have been a major part of local

communities for over 13 years and during this time have

demonstrated commitment to employing, training and supporting

both indigenous and non-indigenous locals.

Goodline facilitates work experience programs with the local

community campuses and encourages the growth and

development of all local youths, offering apprenticeships to willing

candidates who wish to start a school-based or full time trade

apprenticeship. Goodline’s culture embraces the development of

these young community members into the highly skilled tradesmen

of tomorrow. Goodline’s national target for indigenous employment

is to exceed 10% – in Weipa we have exceeded this target with 19%

indigenous employment.
