Testing Water for Gold and Precious Metals  Testing water with Stannous Chloride Prepare a fresh batch of Gold Testing Liquid for each 8 hour period you want to test..as it goes flat like soda, folks...and does not keep well. Procedure: In a clean Test Tube, drop one crystal of stannous chloride (salt of Tin), add 2 -3 cc's of Hydrochloric acid (muriatic), and bring to a gentle boil with a flame. This i s your "Gold Test" liquid. Place in an "eye-dropper" bottle to carry and measure out th e drops you'll need. Ores and water samples can be tested by making up an "Aqua Regia" mix of 1 part Nitric acid, to 3 parts Hydrochloric acid (CC's) in a clean test tube, then add water to be tested, or eraser-sized ore sample. Now boil this in the test tube for about 5 minutes or so with a lamp or light fl ame. *Alternately, this test can be conducted for "GOLD ONLY" with just Hydrochloric acid, omitting the Nitric, but it may not be as pronounced. If this mix has Gold, Platinum or Palladium, it will react in the following mann er; The "Spot" test is done on a clean filter paper or in a white plastic cup, where the reaction shows up better. Place a drop of the Aqua Regia extraction you boiled i n the cup or on the filter paper, then add one drop of the New Stannous Chloride solution. If Gold is there, it will show up as a Purple to Black spot...the dark er the spot, the more gold is in the sample. Keep in mind water may not react as strong ly as some ore samples tested. When testing for PLATINUM, boil 20 drops of your test "Aqua Regia Extraction" on a clean, white porcelain dish until dry. Allow to naturally cool down, then add 4 CC's of distilled water to the dish and heat again to the boiling point. Filter this onto another clean dish, adding a grain of Potassium Iodide. Warm up mixture with light bulb or low flame. If Platinum is there, it will regi ster as a light-to-dark rose color in a few minutes. The darker the color, the more Platin um. Evidence of PALLADIUM will appear as a dark or black color during the above procedure, when testing for Platinum. The more Palladium, the darker the color w ill be, as well as a black powder. Adding more Potassium Iodide will cause it to tur n into a Red color. We have developed a vastly-Improved WATER TEST KIT that comes in a convenient ca rrying

Testing Water for Gold andPrecious Metals Testing water with Stannous Chloride

Prepare a fresh batch of Gold Testing Liquid for each 8 hour period you want totest..as it goes flat like soda, folks...and does not keep well.

Procedure:In a clean Test Tube, drop one crystal of stannous chloride (salt of Tin), add 2-3 cc'sof Hydrochloric acid (muriatic), and bring to a gentle boil with a flame. This is your"Gold Test" liquid. Place in an "eye-dropper" bottle to carry and measure out thedrops you'll need.

Ores and water samples can be tested by making up an "Aqua Regia" mix of 1 partNitric acid, to 3 parts Hydrochloric acid (CC's) in a clean test tube, then add

water tobe tested, or eraser-sized ore sample.

Now boil this in the test tube for about 5 minutes or so with a lamp or light flame.*Alternately, this test can be conducted for "GOLD ONLY" with just Hydrochloricacid, omitting the Nitric, but it may not be as pronounced.

If this mix has Gold, Platinum or Palladium, it will react in the following manner; The "Spot" test is done on a clean filter paper or in a white plastic cup, wherethe

reaction shows up better. Place a drop of the Aqua Regia extraction you boiled inthe cup or on the filter paper, then add one drop of the New Stannous Chloridesolution. If Gold is there, it will show up as a Purple to Black spot...the darker thespot, the more gold is in the sample. Keep in mind water may not react as strongly assome ore samples tested.

When testing for PLATINUM, boil 20 drops of your test "Aqua Regia Extraction"on aclean, white porcelain dish until dry. Allow to naturally cool down, then add 4

CC's ofdistilled water to the dish and heat again to the boiling point.Filter this onto another clean dish, adding a grain of Potassium Iodide.Warm up mixture with light bulb or low flame. If Platinum is there, it will register as alight-to-dark rose color in a few minutes. The darker the color, the more Platinum.

Evidence of PALLADIUM will appear as a dark or black color during the aboveprocedure, when testing for Platinum. The more Palladium, the darker the color willbe, as well as a black powder. Adding more Potassium Iodide will cause it to turn into

a Red color. We have developed a vastly-Improved WATER TEST KIT that comes in a convenient carrying
