«Golden Fish» Vasilisa Kravchuk

Kemerovo region has good sports traditions. There are many famous sportsmen well-known in our country and abroad. One of them is Vasilisa Kravchuk. She is one of Russia`s top underwater swimmers.

Vasilisa Kravchuk was born on the 16th of August, 1987 in Kemerovo. She started swimming when she was 3 years old. She is trained by her mother Lyudmila Edwardovna, a talented coach who created her own unique system of training champions.

Vasilisa spends most of her time in the swimming – pool. She does 4 hours of training every day, during which she swims 5 to 6 kilometres.

Vasilisa Kravchuk won 5 gold medals in the world championship for juniors in Mexico in July 2001. That was a great success for debutante. The same year she won a gold medal and 2 silver medals in European championship and became a superstar. In 2002 Vasilisa won 6 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals and broke 3 world records in the world championship in Poland.

Vasilisa is successful and promising sportsperson. Today she is many-times champion and record-holder of Russia, Europe and world swimming.
