GOLDEN EMPIRE CIVIL ENGINEERING

GETS HONOUR TO BE FIRST IN ASIA PACIFIC TO OWN THE NEW CAT®745C ARTICULATED TRUCK!

Tractors Singapore Limited (TSL) – authorised Cat® dealer for Singapore, Maldives and Christmas Island, Indian

Ocean – saw through another delivery of heavy equipment to the construction sector. More than 10 units of Cat 745C articulated trucks were delivered to Golden Empire Civil Engineering, joining its fleet of over 50 Cat machines for land reclamation works in the western part of Singapore.

In September 2015, the partners of Golden Empire Civil Engineering, Mr Koh Tiam Teck and Mr Alan Lim, together with TSL's General Manager of Equipment Sales, Mr Danny Teo and personnel from Cat Asia Pte Ltd, visited the articulated truck facility in Peterlee, England and witnessed the production of the most powerful, durable and reliable off- highway truck under stringent Caterpillar® quality standards. They were also invited to the proving ground to view a demonstration followed by a ride around the specially designed track to appreciate and understand the full capabilities of the truck.

It was opportune for the partners to take personal delivery of the 745Cs, making the civil engineering firm the first in Asia Pacific to purchase the largest truck in the Cat articulated truck line. Commemorative tokens of

appreciation were presented to both Mr Koh and Mr Lim to record special thanks for their continual support and trust in Cat equipment and TSL's sales and support services.

“Now with a bigger [loading] capacity, more work can be done in a shorter time. Our operators' performance have also improved through technologies that allow for more control over speed and braking whatever the ground

conditions. The truck is powerful. It has smoother gear changes and improved acceleration. With such expert engineering, we get a truck that delivers more performance, more efficiency and more control at the lowest cost of production. In our business, time and productivity are vital factors. We appreciate Danny Teo's well-timed recommendation,” attested Mr Koh.

The all-new Cat 745C has a truckload of advancements. With a 41 metric ton increased payload and greater fuel efficiency, operators can load more, travel faster and be more productive.

• LOADED WITH IMPROVEMENTS The 745C brings more power with the Cat C18 engine while the new, highly efficient CX38 transmission with 9F/2R speeds makes for faster cycle times and increased productivity potential.

• LOADED WITH TECHNOLOGY

Automatic Traction Control adjusts the level of engagement for the clutch locks in the inter-axle differential and in the three axle differentials. The system makes automatic adjustments while the machine is moving without operator input. The optional Cat Production Measurement system allows operators to monitor payloads in the cab

to help boost productivity and lower costs. Additional payload data can be remotely accessed via Cat Product Link / VisionLink to help you make better decisions and effectively manage your jobsite.

• LOADED WITH OPERATOR CONVENIENCES Customers' operators will enjoy the ease of the Automatic Retarder Control, which is fully automatic to help improve driving technique and cycle times. The Hill Assist and Waiting Brake features eliminate the use of the parking brake during normal operation.

All in all, the 745C adds up to a load of profit potential for customers.

SINGAPORE ENJOYS RESPITE FROM THE HAZE FOR TRACTORS SINGAPORE'S

13TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

It was nail-biting as Tractors Singapore Limited's (TSL) 13th Annual Golf Tournament to be held on Sentosa Golf Club's (SGC) prestigious and world-class championship Serapong Course drew near - and Singapore skies remained shrouded by the haze. Could the poorer air quality unravel TSL's plans for the annual event specially organised for its valued customers?

Fortunately on the morning of Friday, 9 October 2015, Mother Nature gave the greenlight - clearer skies were evident over several parts of Singapore as the haze receded and the golfing enthusiasts rejoiced.

This annual golf and dinner event is held in appreciation of customers' loyal support and to raise funds for TSL's adopted charity – The Assisi Hospice, a 45-year-old association dependent largely on donations for its daily operational expenses in looking after more than a thousand terminally-ill poor adults and children requiring palliative and hospice care, regardless of race or religion.

Golfing enthusiasts raring to go!

Golfers registering and doing their bit for charity Teeing off at last!

Along with the usual novelty events around the course, this year's Hole-In-One winner stood a chance of winning

a golf trip for four (on business class) to the game's birthplace – St Andrews in Scotland. Sadly, this proved elusive.

Golfers and non-golfers enjoying themselves during dinner

Non-golfing customers joined the tired, tanned but elated golfers for a sumptuous buffet dinner spread at SGC's

Grand Salon. This year, Bingo and a Charity putt were incorporated as part of the dinner programme, with all proceeds going to Assisi Hospice. These activities saw many happy diners walk away with attractive prizes, whilst

contributing to a good cause. Performance and novelty prizes were presented during dinner.

Mr Jeffri Davidson (then Senior Vice President, China and Power Systems, Sime Darby Industrial) presenting the cheque to

Sister Linda Sim of Assisi Hospice

The overall golfing champion, Mr Hilary Sin of Noble Denton won for himself a night's stay at the Capella Hotel

with breakfast and a 60-minute spa for two, sponsored by Cat Financial (Marine), along with TSL's version of the

coveted World golfing champion's green jacket but with a difference...in Cat yellow, of course. Mr Sin also had the honour of having his name immortalised on TSL's challenge shield which commemorates each year's champion.

The charity drive was a success with close to $20,000 raised for Assisi Hospice. At the end of the event, Sister

Linda Sim, representative from Assisi Hospice expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the guests' generosity and support of the hospice.
