While holidaying on the Gold Coast, make sure you don’t miss out on indulging in some of the best buffets on offer.

Even if you are not staying at one of the hotels featured, you are most welcome to dine and experience some of their sumptuous selections.

Whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner, if you are hungry, a buffet is sure to satisfy any cravings. Buffets are also great for picky eaters and those with allergieswho might struggle to meet their requirements in a normal restaurant situation where meals are unable to be altered.

Many of the buffets offer a carvery section, seafood, pizza and pasta station, salad bar and desserts a plenty (forthe sweet tooths who can’t stop at one).

The seafood buffets are always a popular choice with locals and visitors alike, as much of the high-quality and fresh seafood is locally sourced.

In addition to the growing number of buffets, check outour Dining & Entertainment section (pages 40-53) to viewthe eager restaurateurs who have been changing the Gold Coast dining scene.

ty shopping & beautyThe Gold Coast continues to evolve as a haven for retail enthusiasts with a vast array of shopping options headlined by signature fashion boutiques and larger iconic department store brands.

With some of Australia’s largest retail centres and most stylish fashion precincts, even grocery shopping on the Gold Coast is an enticing prospect.

Browse the generous complexes, take a shopping tour, peruse the boutiques, wander through the piazzas and pay particular attention to the factory outlet precincts.

Luxurious day spas and in-room services are an essential addition to any holiday, to experience a sense of relaxation and tranquility after the thrill of the bargain hunt.

The suburb of Currumbin has the best of both worlds. It is nestled on the beautiful Currumbin Creek which winds its way down to the

kilometres inland. It meets the sea at ‘the Currumbin Alley’, which offers both north-facing, still water swimming and a World-famous, sand-bottomed, point, surf break, formed by the majestic Currumbin Rock. Currumbin also has an easterly facing surf beach to the south of the Alley and this is bounded by the picturesque Elephant Rock. Inland you can visit the Currumbin Rock Pools and Cougal Cascades, a 25 minute drive into the tranquil Currumbin Valley.

Next stop south, is the pristine Bilinga Beach, which is opposite the Gold Coast Airport and the Southern Cross University. Walk this beautiful beach and you will think you are on a deserted island, as you are bounded by high sand dunes to the west.
