They said the little girl stood paralyzed in the path of the on- rushing train and was hurled 30 feet by the impact. David Karnath Wins K of C Scholarship

A Kenmore student is one of eight awarded scholarships by the New York State Council, Knights of Columbus, at its 80th annual meeting today in Saratoga Springs.

He is David L. Karnath, 136 Fairbanks Ave., a student at Cani-sius High School The scholarship, valued at $1,600, will help defray expenses at any Catholic college in the U. S. The awards are made annual on the-basis of two com­petitive examinations.

8 Elmwood Park N., died Satur­day (May 28, 1955) in his home. A lifelong resident of the Twin Cities, he was an employe of the Allan Herschell Co. for more than 50 years.
