The Story Continues

• The cycle?– God has a GREAT plan.– We want to do things our way.

• Genesis 12:1-3, page 13– “Go from your country, your people and your

father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

1. See the Dream

• God begins with a dream. Genesis 12:1-3

• “Can you imagine this?”• What is God’s dream for you? What

can you envision?

2. Obey the Call

• Three important words: “So Abraham went.”

• Catching the vision is not enough.– Pack up.– Step out.– Obey His call.

• “I’ll follow You wherever . . .”• Obeying the call means trusting the

One who is leading you.

3. Trust the Enabler.

• God’s promises don’t happen immediately.– Sarah got tired of waiting.– Abraham acted unwisely.– Twenty-five years after the promise: Isaac!

• Romans 4:18-19.– Abraham “faced the fact that his body was

as good as dead.”– Sometimes, the Father changes the facts.

4. Keep Trusting When Tested

• God will see His people through.• God spoke to Abraham (page 19) and

Abraham obeyed in faith.– Hebrews 11:17-19

• A father was committed enough to give up his beloved son.– John 3:16. God so loved the world, that

He gave His one and only Son.
