"And the Word was made flesh,

and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

I. JESUS CHRIST is a PERSON

CHRIST ALREADY WAS

“Eternal Pre-Existence”

•The Living Bible: “The absolute truth is that I was in existence before Abraham was born”

•Paul: “He is before all things” (Col. 1:17)

• John: “He is the Alpha and the Omega,… the beginning and the end” (Rev. 1:8)

II. JESUS CHRIST is the SECOND PERSON of the

TRINITY “and the Word was with God” (v.1b)

“Three in One, and One in three, and the One in the

middle died for me.”

III. JESUS CHRIST is GOD

“and the Word was God” (v.1c)

“He that has seen Me has seen the Father”

(Jn. 14:9)

“I and My Father are one” (Jn. 10:30)

WHAT Christ BECAME: “And the Word became flesh”

(Jn. 1:14)

WHAT Christ BECAME:

1. He became MAN (John 1:14) – the Incarnation

2. He became SIN (2nd Corinthians 5:21) - the Atonement

3. He became ALIVE (Colossians 2:13) - the Resurrection

He became not

God and man, but

The God-Man

“God was in Christ reconciling the

world unto Himself” (2nd Corinthians 5:19)

“And without controversy

great is the mystery of godliness;

God was manifest in the flesh”

(I Timothy 3:16)

“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God.

But made Himself of no reputation,

and took upon Him the form of a servant,

and was made in the likeness of man” (Philippians 2:6,7)

The Lord, God has come near to us

in the Person of His Son,

Jesus Christ

A. The Sufferings of Christ“and dwelt among us” (v. 14a)

CHRIST:“pitched His tent among us”;

“He camped among us”; “He tabernacled among us”

“Shekinah Glory”

Hebrews 4:15

“but was in all points

tempted like as we are,

yet without sin”

B. The Salvation by Christ “And we beheld his glory,

the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Celebrate the Birthof Jesus,

it is also a time to

Commemorate His death
