Unleash the POWER of Goal Setting!

Experts on the science of success know the brain is a goal-seeking organism. Whatever goal you give your sub-conscious mind, it will work night and day to achieve it › All it needs is……….WHAT (DREAM) and

WHEN (TIMELINE) !

What is a Goal? Goals: those things you aim for that take

planning and work.

Short-Term Goal: a goal that you can reach in a short period of time.

Long-Term Goal: a goal that you plan to reach over an extended period of time.

Action plan: a multi-step strategy to identify and achieve your goals.

GOALS THAT STRETCH YOU It is good to have goals that require

you to grow and to achieve and may make you a little uncomfortable

Ultimate goal is to become a master of life. To do this you will need to learn new skills, expand your vision of what is possible, build new relationships and learn to overcome your fears, considerations and road blocks.

Page 19: Goalsettingaug2013

Goals Pay Big! A study of Harvard graduates found

that after 20 years, the three percent of them who had written goals achieved more financially than the other 97% combined!

"An average person with average talent, ambition and education, can outstrip the most brilliant genius in our society, if that person has clear, focused goals."

Page 20: Goalsettingaug2013

Once you set a goal 3 things to understand about goals:

› Considerations: all the reasons why goal is impossible. Work twice as hard, you could get hurt, may take too much time

› Fears: rejection, failure, making a fool of yourself.

› Roadblocks: don’t have the money, class my not be open, cant find a partner, time?

Page 21: Goalsettingaug2013

Keep Moving Forward! DO NOT SEE CONSIDERATIONS, FEARS

AND ROAD BLOCKS AS STOP SIGNS!!!

LEARN TO DEAL WITH THEM.› In fact, they are supposed to appear if they

don’t it means you have not set a goal big enough to stretch you and grow.

Writing My Own Eulogy Think to a day in the future, the day of your funeral.

Should you have died and people come to your funeral, what would you want them to say? What would you want to be remembered for? What is it that you feel your family and friends ought to miss most about you and specifically mention in their eulogy? Think about it and then write these things down. Think about what would you want to be remembered for, what are the qualities which you would want to possess, which would characterize you even at your funeral. Scratch out the ones which you already feel you possess and work on acquiring the others
