A Time for Rebirth and Renewal By Dame Andrea Mikana-Pinkham

For those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere, Spring is finally here! Bringing with it a time to celebrate the turning of the wheel of the y ear as the death and decay of winter gives way to a time of renewal and rebirth. In the world of nature, beginning with the first green shoots, Spring explodes into a multitude of beautif ul blossoms, giving its promise of growth and fertile abundance. In ancient times many festivals were held to celebrate the

Spring Goddesses who were associated with flowering, growth and fert ility of the land. Below are some of them, taken from myths from aroun d the world:

Anna Perenna (Roman) was associated with the cycles of the year and renewal. Her main Festival was celebrated on Ides of March.

Artio (Swiss) is the bear Goddess who hibernates during the Winter; Her return heralds the beginning of Spring. Beiwe (Finnish) is associated with the fertility of plants and reindeer. Together with her daughter Beiwe-Neia, they turn the hills green so the reindeer can feed. Blodewedd (Celtic) was created by magic from nine spring flowers to be the wife of Llew Llaw. Brigit (Celtic) is honored in Her Maiden aspect at the festival of Imbolc, which celebrates the first stirrings of Spring. Dziewanna (Eastern European) is the Goddess of Spring and Agriculture, and is especially honored by local farmers. Flora (Roman) was the Goddess of flowering plants, especially those that bore fruit. Her festival, the Floralia, took place in April or early May and was marked with dancing, drinking, and flowers. Freya (Nordic) , the fertility Goddess, is linked with spring growth and flowers. Hare Ke (West African) is the Goddess of the sweet waters fed by the spring rains that brings fertility back to the land. Ostara (Celtic) is the Goddess of fertility and rebirth. Her sacred symbols of painted eggs and white rabbits have been incorporated into the Christian celebration of Easter. Kono-Hana-Sakuya-Hime (Japanese) is associated with the Springtime and cherry blossom. Her name means "Lady who makes the trees bloom." She is also Goddess of the sacred site Mount Fuji. Kostroma (Russian) is a fertility Goddess and personification of Spring. In Russian mythology she dies at the end of each Spring, only to arise once more at the end of the following winter. Lada (Eastern European) is the Goddess of Spring and Love who is worshipped in Lithuania, Poland and Russia. Maia (Greek) represented the forces of growth and the return of the sun's warm rays. Olwen (Celtic) is the Goddess of sunlight who reappears every Spring, leaving behind Her a trail of white clover wherever She walks. Persephone (Greek) is the Greek Goddess of Spring. Her mother Demeter mourned her as she left for the underworld each Autumn, causing the land to become cold and barren. When She returned in the Spring the happy Demeter would bestow the land with growth and abundance. Prosepina (Roman) was the Roman counterpart to Persephone and daughter of the grain Goddess Ceres. Sita (Hindu) is the Spring Goddess of agriculture and the earth. If any of these aspects of the Goddess calls to you, perhaps you'd like to do a bit more

research about Her . As well, we invite you connect with Her through meditation . Take some time away from your busy life, go to your altar and light a spring-colored candle (green or pastels), and invite Her energy into your space. Be open to a message from Her about renewal and growth . She's sure to communicate in the way that's perfe ct for you!

Sufi Beginnings of the Illuminati Conspiracy

Excerpted from World Gnosis: The Coming Gnostic Civilization by IOGT Grand Prior Mark Amaru Pinkham

The year 1776 arrived with a flourish. This was the pivotal year that saw the founding of the first Sub-Rosa nation in the New World, the United States of America, and the official beginning of the gnostic Order of the Illuminati in Germany. Founded by Adam Weishaupt, the Professor of Cannon Law at the University of In golstat in Germany, the Illuminati was calculated to be the final vehicle in the movement to precipitate a one-world spirituality. Although this movement had, in recent history, begu n with the Knights Templar, its roots were much more ancient and could be traced at least as far back as the Sufis. The visionary Sufi Master who first proposed a crus ade to create a one-world spirituality was Abdullah ibn Maymun during the Ninth Century. Maymu n was born in southern Persia and brought up in an eclectic environment of intellectu als, which included both Persian Gnostic and Ishmaili Shiite teachers. Endowed with both mys tical insight and a very ambitious temperament, from a young age Maymun proved his abi lity to understand the highest and most abstruse gnostic teachings of the Ismailis. So when the first opportunity arose to ascend the Ishmaili hierarchy Maymun easily found s upport among his peers. His subsequent activities and reforms as an Ishmaili ch ief would prove pivotal not only to the Ishmaili but to the later Knights Templar and the I lluminati. Maymun was one of the first Sufi synthesizers to am algamate the numerous ancient religious and alchemical traditions gobbled up by t he conquering Moslems into a new mystery school tradition. His mystery sect of the B atinis, which was founded in 909 CE with seven levels of advancement, became a model that wo uld be adopted by many future Sufi mystery sects. Maymun's exceptional ability to synt hesize both people and spiritual traditions together set him apart from his peers an d ultimately gained him fame. One Islamic historian remarked: "To link together into one body the vanquished and the conquerors; to

unite in the form of a vast secret society with man y degrees of initiation free thinkers-who regarded religion only as a curb for the people...t o induce conquerors to overturn the empires they had founded...such was Abdullah ibn Ma ymun's general-an extraordinary conception which he worked out with marvelous tact, incomparable skill and a profound knowledge of the human heart...." Maymun's mission quickly gathered many converts, bu t it also quickly imploded when his followers began to resort to violence to achieve th eir goal of a one-world gnostic spirituality. When his teachings became embraced by the warring K armathites, thousands of innocent persons who refused to convert to Maymun's doctrine s were slain. The final debacle occurred when 30,000 Moslems were massacred for sta nding in the way of the Karmathites' campiagn to conquer Mecca. When the Karmathites wer e themselves soundly defeated soon afterwards it had become crystal clear that another approach was needed if the world was to be won over to a higher cause. The basic principals of Maymun's mystery tradition and his global movement were both were adopted in 1004 CE by the Dar-ul-Himat, the "House of Wisdom" mystery school of Cairo, which became the premier training ground for Ishmai li Sufis. The House of Wisdom adopted Maymun's seven levels of mystical advancement, to w hich two more were added to make nine degrees. These nine degrees mirrored other gno stic mystery traditions, such as the Kuala tradition of India, by embracing Right Hand P ath practices and theology in their early degrees, and then progressing through the Left Hand Path practices in their later degrees to achieve transcendance and gnosis. According to historical speculation, Weishaupt was initiated and trained by a direct initiate from the Ismailis' House of Wisdom five years previ ous to his founding the Illuminati. At that time Weishaupt is said to have been visited by a gn ostic adept who had spent years in Egypt studying the mystical traditions of the Dar-ul-Hima t. This charismatic and persuasive adept is said to have possessed both an exceptionally str ong personality and a high level of gnostic awareness. One identification that has been suggested for this mysterious adept is that of a Danish merchant named Kolmer, who after sojourning in Egyp t for many years, arrived in Europe seeking converts for both the Ishamaili and gnostic Manichaeaism teachings he had become a proponent of. His predilection for the Persian Gn ostic path aligned him directly to the early Sufis, many of whom had originated in Persia, inclu ding the Sufi Maymun. Before meeting Weishaupt, Kolmer is said to have st opped off in Malta to enroll the Knights of Malta in his scheme for a one-world empire. He w as, apparently, less than successful and the Knights sent him packing, but not before he had a pivotal meeting with the alchemist and gnostic, Alessandro Cagliostro, who was residing in Malta at the time. Cagliostro never mentioned Kolmer by name in his diaries, but he rep eatedly alluded to one of his teachers named Althotas, which is believed to be a cryptic n ame for Kolmer. After Weishaupt's visit with the mysterious adept f rom Egypt, he spent the following five years gathering together the components of an organ ization that in 1776 would become officially known in Bavaria as the Illuminati. In i ts synthesized form the Illuminati was a gnostic-alchemical mystery school with strong Sufi, Persian, Egyptian, Greek, Manichaean and Freemasonic influences. Of these, it was perhap s the Persian influence that was most salient and foundational. Weishaupt adopted both th e Persian calendar, as well as the floppy hat of the Persian savior, Mithras, which became th e Illuminati's most recognizable symbol .

Know Your Destiny, Know Your Dharma

When you know your destiny you will understand your Dharma. Your Dharma is the special work you were born to do in this life. Astrology is a go od tool to use for understanding your destiny and dharma. A Natal Astrological reading will inform yo u of your basic dharma and what planetary forces will most powerfully be directing your destiny thro ughout life. A Vedic or Hindu chart can also inform you as to what planet is predominant in your life at any given time. At some point you will pass through a Mars Cycle of 7 years, a Moon Cycle of 10 years, a Jupiter Cycle of 16 years, etc., until you have moved through all the planetary cycl es. These are generally planets that are stron g and favorably disposed in your chart. You will also know what gems can be harmful to you because they are governed by unfavorable planets in your ch art.
