Our headline ask:
We believe that everyone should have access to a
decent home, whatever their age, including in later life
• We need homes that are warm, safe and in good repair and help to achieve this
• free, independent and impartial housing options advice
• trustworthy handyperson and home improvement agencies to enable us to maintain our homes
• easy access to adaptations, including new technologies.
• We want neighbourhoods that are designed to be inclusive and enable us to remain active members of our communities.
• The needs of an ageing population in all main documents and strategies.
• Health professionals to offer a housing assessment as part of the integration of housing, health and social care systems.
• Closer links between health and housing.
• More imaginative housing options for older people to meet the range of diverse needs in later life
• Housing specifically for older people available in localities so people can maintain social and family connections
• Older people want to be involved
