ACADEMICS
KPMG PANEL – Nov 20 5 pm, HSB 236 A panel of representatives from KPMG will be coming to speak to students on the accounting profession, the CA designation and KPMG culture.!
!Free for members and $5 admission for non-members. Takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 5 pm in HSB 236!
CGA CASE COMPETITION - Nov 24-26 Sign-ups begin on November 12th and end on November 19th !Can sign up at the Somerville House booth at select times that will be announced via e-mail and Facebook.!!
Member Contribution!If you are looking for leadership experience, you are welcome to participate in preparing the logistics of the competition. Details will be sent out to members. Involvement may lead to additional opportunities as well as a personal recommendation letter from our Director of Academics. !
CAREERS
RESUME/CV WORKSHOP An interactive workshop that will give a comprehensive overview of resume/cover letter requirements and how to tailor these documents for specific job opportunities. !
LINKEDIN WORKSHOP This workshop will provide a detailed introduction to the online resume space and professional community of LinkedIn. As a collaborative effort between Careers and Communications, members will gain the value of
both aspects to the website. !
NETWORKING AND SUMMER JOB HUNT A final workshop for the semester that ties in a lot of the recruitment items discussed so far and that offers
essential strategies to developing networking relations, building your business profile and effectively pursuing a summer job. !
STUDENT AFFAIRS
END OF NOVEMBER SOCIAL Something that is currently in plan. We are considering doing a lasertag competition with Western DECA to show them who’s boss. Get it?!
GINGERBREAD COMPETITION On December 6th, Student Affairs will be hosting its final social where teams of 5 will compete to build the best gingerbread house. Teams can be pre-arranged or randomly assigned at the time of the event. !
!A kit of materials will be providing and the final result will be judged by Ivey staff, PBSN executives and corporate representatives.!
ATHLETICS
FANTASY LEAGUE English Premiere League and NBA!$5 to enter. !
Winner gets 70% of the pool and 30% goes to a finalist.!!If interested e-mail [email protected] or approach me. !
