Somehow,IdonotwantkeeptheflamefromourSCTeventofffromburningandhence,IwouldliketopickonanicestatementthatMrMartinmade,“therearemanysuccessfulsalespeopleinourorganizationoperatinginsamemarket,butwhatstopsothersfrombeingsuccessful!”.

PerhapsmylittleoriginaltelltalewillbringmoresanctitytoMrMartinthoughts:-

Therewasthislittleboyaged6forcedintosellingnewspaperatanearlyagetomakehisliving,itwastoughcallashehadtocompetewitholderkidsdoublehisage,who tookoverbusycornerof the streets.Beingolder , they yelled louder to selltheirpaperoftenthreateningthisboyof6withclenchedfists.

Hoelle’s restaurantwasnear the cornerwhere thisboy triedtoworkanditgavehimanidea.Therestaurantwasbusyandprosperousplacethatpresentedafrighteningaspecttoachildof6,eventhoughhewasnervoushewalkedinhurriedlyandmade a lucky sale at the first table , then the diners at thesecondandthirdtablebroughtthepapers.Whenhereachedthefourthtable,theownerMrHoellepushedhimoutofthefrontdoor.Buthehadsold3paperbythen.WhenMrHoellewasnotlookingaroundthisboywalksbacktothefourthtable,apparentlythejovialcustomeronthistablelikedhisgumptionandgavehimanextradimebeforeMrHoellepushedhimout

again,by thistimehehad sold fourpapersandalsoearnedanextradime.Relentless,hecomesbackagainandentirerestaurantburstsintolaughter,asMrHoellecomestowardshimtoshovehimout,someoneamongstthecrowdwhispered“lethimbe.”About5minuteslatertheboyhadsoldhisentirepapers.

Next evening, he again goes back to the restaurant to sell hispapersandhewasagainusheredoutof thedoor,buthewalksbackandthistimeMrHoellethrowshishandsinairandexclaims“What’stheuse”.

LaterthisyoungboybecamegreatfriendswithMrHoelleandheneverhadtroublesellingpaperthereagain.

Idonotwanttowritethemoralofthisstory,oursalescolleaguesshould be able comprehend how to challenge adversaries andchalkoutaplanandbeatthesame.
