The long stretched walk from end to endIts memorial stones paying homage to Gloucester past
A silent moment to my soul ascendsThe historic scenes to my vision cast
In the harbor anchored lobstermen at their taskSo they can feed and nurture their young
All they seek is a good catch todayThis beautiful scene of Gloucester beneath God’s sun
The rushing tide of the oceans wavesDisturbed by speedboats cutting its way
God’s seagulls with their own sounds madeTruly the work of our Creator we could say
Ten Pound Islands its winged creatures taking flightWith the Breakwater protecting our shore
The Fishermen’s statue who oversees days and nightsOur Island of Gloucester visitors come to exploreTablets representing thousands who have died
Loved ones gathered to witness with prideThe statue of The Fishermen’s children and wife
On this beautiful Island in which we abide
