Calvary Church Missions and Outreach

4-week devotional curriculum

During the month of March, small groups and Adult Sunday Congregations are encouraged to devote 10-15 minutes of their time together to discuss the concept of becoming a “glocal Christian”.

Sunday, April 15 morning services

• Pastor Marvin Williams - former Assistant Pastor of Calvary, now Senior Teaching Pastor of Trinity Church in Lansing

• Table Group discussions on contextualization in culture, and evangelism

Sunday, April 15 evening service

• Andy Castillo – former intern at Calvary, now serving in his home country of Honduras.

• Special activities to create awareness of people groups right here in Grand Rapids

• Final opportunity to sign up for April 28

Building the HouseSaturday, April 28

Who? Everyone - small groups, af-finity groups, Adult Sunday Congregations! There are jobs for all ages and abilities – supervising and helping in the children’s area, providing snacks and lunch, manning a first aid station, as well as the actual construction.

What? Adults 14 and older will be involved in building walls and cutting and painting trim; elementary-aged children through 13 year-olds will create other projects for the family.

When? Saturday, April 28, 8:00am-4:00pm

Where? Everyone will be together under one roof in a large warehouse.

Why? “... and you will be my wit-nesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

The tangible goal for the day is to begin construction on a home for a family in our community. But the intangibles include unity, breaking down barriers, strengthen-ing relationships, building community, and the opportunity to show Christ’s love.

How? Talk with your group, and sign up beginning in March!
