Pray for them to be able to start well after some long travel. Pray for good energy and focus and commitment to love and serve each other well. Pray for Joe as he leads! Holly Duke (Reign Ministries, China Trip Leader): Pray for us as our 10 teams are heading out between today and tomorrow. China particularly has a long few days ahead of us – all travel (planes, train, and buses) until we finally land in our first ministry location – Wuxi (Woo-shee). This is a new ministry contact and location to us. Please pray for our relationship with this new contact! We want to understand quickly how to work well together. Pray against homesickness and travel fatigue, that we would have the energy to jump right in to ministry! Pray for us as leaders. This is the start of the summer for the students; we have already been going strong for 4+weeks. Pray for renewal of energy! We can always use wisdom! A special prayer given by Chief Centennial Commissioner, John Fisher, given on Parliament Hill 1967 to celebrate Canadas Centennial:

“Almighty God, who has called us out of many nations and set our feet on this broad

land, establishing us as one people from sea to sea, gratefully we remember how Thou hast led us through one hundred years. Grant

Thy blessing on the joyous celebration of our Centennial Year, and a deeper worthiness of its

dreams that gave us birth, that with the flame of freedom in our souls, and the light of knowledge in our eyes, we may magnify Thy name among men,

one country serving Thee”

Church News

On behalf of Operation Freedom Sponsorship Group and by the magic of Google Translate, I was able to have a "text" conversation with Hamzah Alabras. He expressed his thanks to all of us, several times. He allowed us to show our church the pictures of his family, saying "It is an honor to appear before these good

people like you " The conversation with Mr. Alabras

was heartwarming and I couldn't help but think of how poignant it was at this

time when we reflect as a nation on all that makes Canada a great country and celebrate her 150th Birthday. Mr. Alabras wanted a picture of some-one from our group so he could get to know us personally and his response upon receiving it was: "Thank you. Thank you Canada. Thank you to everyone who contributed to a better life for me and my family" We are so happy to come to you" He saw us. He saw Canada. That is something to celebrate.
