5.1 Spinning Machinery

• The global shipments of spinning machinery is forecast to grow from XX million units in 2015 to XX million units in 2020 growing at a CAGR of XX% from 2015 to 2020

• The projected growth in the shipments of spinning machinery is due to the anticipated growth in textile mill consumption of fibres as shown in figure

• Asia-Oceania had the highest share of XX% in global market of spinning machinery in 2014

• Asia-Oceania has highest numbers of spinning mills in the world and majority of global yarn is produced here. The growing production volume of yarn creates the higher demand for spinning machinery

• Short-staple spindles had the highest share of XX% in global market of spinning machinery in 2014

• Majority of spinning mills in the world are in Asia-Oceania, where cheap labor is easily available. Thus, majority of mill owners prefer using short-staple spindles over other spindles

5.1 Spinning Machinery

TEXTILE MACHINERY MARKET, BY PRODUCT TYPE, BY GEOGRAPHY, 2011-2020

5.1.1 Short-Staple Spindles• The global production of yarn has been increasing.

The global yarn production has increased at a CAGR of XX% from 2008 to 2012

• The higher production of yarn requires more spinning machineries to meet the growing production volumes of yarn. These indeed increases the demand of short-staple spinning machinery

• Short-staple spinning machinery is majorly preferred over rotor spinning for man-made staple fibre spinning

• The textile consumption of man-made fibres is projected to grow at a CAGR of XX% from 2015 to 2020, which will also drive the market for short-staple spindles

• China and India are the major contributor in the global shipments of short-staple spindles and are projected to grow at a significant CAGR of XX% and XX% from 2015 to 2020, respectively

• The higher volumes and significant projected growth of short-staple spindles shipments in China and India are result of lower cost of manufacturing in these country as compared to other countries as shown in figure

6.1 Spinning Machinery

Asia-Oceania has the highest number of installed capacity of spinning machinery in the world. Asia-Oceania has the highest contribution in the global yarn production, owing to which it has large numbers of spinning mills which generates the demand for spinning machinery. China and India has majority of market share in Asia-Oceania region. short-staple spindles had the highest share of XX% in global installed capacity of spinning machinery in 2014. The major advantage of rotor spinning over ring spinning is reduction in direct labor cost. However, majority of spinning mills are located in Asia-Oceania, where cheap labor is easily available, thus ring spinning machinery has highest market share.

6.1 Spinning Machinery

The number of spinning mills in India has increased exponentially as shown in figure, because of lower manufacturing cost of yarn in India as compared to other countries, large production volume of cotton in India, and cheap labor. The growing number of spinning mills in India has driven the market for spinning machinery in India and, thus the volume of installed capacity of spinning machinery has increased. This growing trend is anticipated to continue in near future, owing to favorable government policies for textile industry in India and growing demand of yarn. The installed capacity of short-staple spindles in India and world is forecast to grow at a CAGR of XX% and XX% from 2015 to 2020 respectively.
