Creationists claim that God created the heaven and the earth six thousand years ago with all the living things that we see today and that the fossils were either created at that time or left as evidence of the flood at the time of Noah.

Ge 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion (rule over) over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Colossians 3:1- 3 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
