A triple transition is taking place at the same time in the world: The demographic transition in the developing and emerging countries, the urban population grows at a vertiginous speed. More than two billion additional people are expected in cities by 2050. Our planet has never faced such a human challenge. In the developed economies, population ageing is another phenomenon of the 21st century that impacts life in our cities;
The energy and environmental transition the rarefaction of natural resources, transport congestion, the development of renewable energies, global warming and all its economic, social and environmental consequences raise numerous stakes for cities. The need for sustainable and resilient cities is emerging all over the world. Such cities shall minimize the carbon footprint and adapt to climate change disasters;
The digital transition new information and communication technologies bring new services and new behaviors in cities. All stakeholders are concerned: inhabitants, visitors, corporations, public services and private operators, …
The city of tomorrow, in our vision at Egis, is a city that meets and integrates the challenges brought by this triple transition.
By its dimension, its history, its multiple skills, I do believe that Egis can bring value creating to its public and private clients to fulfill the requirements of this triple transition.
Through the present document, Egis highlights its vocation and mission to contribute to imagine and design the living environments of tomorrow, in France and all over the world.

The city, that singular place where everything is on the go Each city is unique and derives its identity from the initial intersection between a society and the space it occupies. As heterogeneous mixture of social, cultural and architectural identities, of constraints and opportunities, of places both natural and man-made, the city is not defined simply as a juxtaposition of inhabited spaces and transportation flows, but as a combination of the private sphere, the public sphere and natural spaces, all attempting to live together, constantly seeking an equilibrium.

OUR APPROACH, CUSTOMISABLE AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY
The city of tomorrow cannot be designed from scratch. Engineering a city requires identifying its strengths and weaknesses together, devising an integrated and sensible design that is both appropriate and adjustable, and turning in a finished product that measures up to our clients' ambitions and resources. We are dedicated to providing you with assistance for each of your projects, through a customisable and multidisciplinary approach.
CUSTOMISABLE,
We adjust our designs and construction techniques depending on local specificities, whether they be environmental, financial, economic, social, cultural or regulatory.
We draw on a team that is well-suited to the challenge and strikes a perfect balance between local and international expertise and know-how, thanks to a judicious process for selecting our partners.
MULTIDISCIPLINARY,
Our employees come from generalist disciplines, capable of accounting for every aspect of an urban system, and specialist disciplines, including all those which contribute to the four pillars of sustainable development: economic, social, environmental and governance.
We make a difference for our clients through our ability to devise projects incorporating urban initiatives, transportation infrastructures and urban services, by drawing on all our competencies in engineering, project development and site operation.

>
OUR APPROACH, 5 KEY PRINCIPLES
In addition to our globally recognised technical competencies, we incorporate experts into our teams. They specialise in contractual, regulatory and financial arrangements, in order to secure your projects and make them economically viable and visible to international lenders or investors.
As such, the process for putting together your strategy and funding proposals is no longer uncoupled from technical realities, but accounts for all components of a project.
With a firm focus on adapting to local concerns and assembling a skilled team, we design urban projects based on 5 key principles.

OUR APPROACH, 5 KEY PRINCIPLES
Appeal maximising the appeal of a project from three standpoints:
an economic standpoint, in order to attract companies and investors
a social standpoint, in order to bring in new residents, visitors, tourists, etc.
an environmental standpoint, in order to increase biodiversity, improve sustainability and reduce negative impacts
Innovation the spirit of innovation is in us all, in every stage and every component of a project:
project development: we seek the best arrangements in terms of governance, risk and contract strategies
design, construction and operation: we employ innovative design methods and technical solutions (3D design, BIM, mobility and energy modelling, participatory studies on living conditions, etc.), sustainable mobility and energy services
Inclusion taking into consideration every stakeholder in a project is a principle that is integral to sustainable development. We make every effort to factor in the interests, opportunities and constraints of public institutions, private actors, residents, visitors and users
Resilience
minimising the carbon footprint of a project and its impact on the environment in general
taking into account the impact of natural disasters and climate change — a major phenomenon that will mark the decades to come — by incorporating development proposals that are resilient to climatic hazards.

YOUR CHALLENGE, OUR SERVICES
During the most critical stages of a project, our clients (cities, public and private investors, international lenders, etc.) need to be surrounded by technical, economic and legal experts, in order to carry their urban projects to completion based on their stated needs. We help our clients formulate these needs and assist them throughout the life cycle of their projects, from the upstream phases to the design and construction phases — including the structuring and operational assembly — and for certain projects, up to the operation phase.
Egis is involved throughout the entire value chain and offers services at every stage of an urban project, from the upstream phase to the operation phase.

Turnkey and operation
4 years
The project consists in the operation of the on-street parking system in Amsterdam. It concerns approximately 150 000 parking spaces. The services include the management of the permits rights, the payment collection and the automatic enforcement. This highly digitalised system has removed completely the need for staff members to walk the streets checking cars, but still involves currently the need to physically visit the cars that have not paid and therefore may be fined.

BNV MOBILITY, A SOLUTION TO REDUCE TRAFFIC DURING RUSH HOUR IN ROTTERDAM - NETHERLANDS
URBAN SERVICES OPERATION
Rotterdam
Design and development
18 months renewal
Egis, through its subsidiary in the Netherlands BNV Mobility, has developed solutions to promote mobility behavior change in Rotterdam with the roll out of several ambitious projects: notably the implementation of a positive toll to discourage commuters from using their vehicles during peak hours and encourage them to use public transport instead (pilot project financed by the municipality of Rotterdam). The second phase of the project the ‘MyJini’ concept, in partnership with local private companies, entails new added value services to improve or facilitate mobility. Offers are formulated to encourage a change in transport habits, including incentives for avoiding vehicle use in peak hour, ultimately reducing commuter transport cost.
