Political and Social Issues

Racism- Race was the biggest influence in this particular documentary. If it wasn’t

for the time period and the race and color of the people being accused the accusations would be treated fairly. With a fair trial that should have happened in the beginning.

Social Injustice- A fair trial didn’t happen because of the Scottsboro boy’s race. That is

technically Social injustice by mistreating someone because of their race, color or religious preferences.

Political Injustice- Political Injustice happened because of the judges having the

authority to rule in favor of allowing them to re-try the trial over and over again.

21st century thinker Evaluation

Through this documentary it has contributed to my understanding of life in the 1930’s. It has shown me the hardships, accusations, and how hard it was for black men in particularly. I know that they weren’t treated equally, as other criminals are today. Also I learned that they, the people of the 1930’s, would believe a white person over a black any day. It was very informational and I absolutely loved learning about history of racial discrimination.
