The Global Health Diplomacy Network brings together researchers and practitioners with the common goal of improving capacity for health diplomacy. 

We believe that better health negotiations can improve global health.

What is the GHD-NET?

WHO with the Rockefeller Foundation identified major capacity gap.

Some countries & stakeholders are not in a position to be actively engaged.

2009: Bellagio Global Health Diplomacy Dialogues

Participants agreed that such a network could contribute to address this gap.

Background

All parties and stakeholders have the capacity to be fully engaged and in a position to influence the outcome of negotiations

Understanding of the cross-cutting linkages between population health and the many facets of foreign policy.

Not only able to assess the options being discussed, but also to put forward their own proposals.
