Save The Date – Wednesdays in December
A PUBLICATION OF GLENWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH
It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year…
1
There’s an old Christmas song, titled “The Spirit of Christmas” that asks a familiar question many people tend to ask or think about during the Christmas season: “Why can’t we enjoy the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ all through the year?” It’s an age-old question that really, truly never gets answered... or does it?
What is it that we are really asking for? What is it that we really want? Christmas trees and lights up 365 days a year? Christmas music on the radio 24 hours a day/7 days a week: That would surely get old wouldn’t it? Is this the desire of our Christmas-loving hearts? Are we really asking for the true meaning of Christmas to become more evident in our lives, day in and day out?
So what would that look like, the true meaning of Christmas in our lives every day? It takes me back to the original Christmas Story we find in Luke 2...
There we find a Silent Night! a Holy Night! a Midnight Clear! a Forever Love set to appear! What we don’t see is the hustle and bustle of malls, parties, and decorating.

New Logo & New Website
We are excited to announce a new logo and website in an effort to update our branding to a cleaner, more modern look and to better reflect the spirit and vibrancy of our church. We partnered with Bryan Owens of Blue Lion Digital to create the fully redesigned logo & website.
Designed to reflect the clean, modern feel of the new logo, the new website was created with simple navigation in mind. Our goal was to create a website that leads people directly to the information they are seeking. We wanted information about our church to be organized and simplified, and to make it easier to find. Check it out.
Come out to the FLC for a great time of reaching in and out together. We will have coffee and hot chocolate available beginning at 6:00 pm.

We see an unconditional love that is demonstrated through gift giving (God) and gift receiving (the World). What we don’t find is stressed out shoppers trying to buy Christmas peace. If every day could be Christmas, what a wonderful world it could be! We could carry the Christ-centered, God-focused message of the season within us all throughout the year. Love would shine brighter through us than any star in the sky. A Sunday School teacher recently said in a lesson about God’s Love... “God must live through me in order for me to have life.”
That should be our goal, our motive for wanting the Spirit of Christmas to be alive all year long. Whether it is December, May, or September, this world is looking and longing for silent nights, peace on earth, goodwill toward all men all the time. There is a hunger for a Savior. There is a desire for a Storybook ending, where good conquers bad!
The best news of it all is that we, the church, have that to offer to anyone and every one. We have it all wrapped up in a book called The Bible! Will you help carry the true meaning of Christmas (Jesus) to a world that is hungry for it? “All of Christ, All of the time” should be our heart’s desire. When that is our goal, then the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ is truly lived out in our lives every day.
From the bottom of my heart, let me be one of the first to wish each of you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
ACCTS Senior Adult Trip to Southern Wesleyan University Friday, December 5th @ 7:00 pm
