ArtsNorth Sydney Town Hall Performance

Last Tuesday evening Miss O’Brien, Miss Noakes, Mrs Pearce and parents had the pleasure of watching our choir performing at the Sydney Town Hall. It was truly a wonderful evening and our students so enjoyed the experience and the pride of delivering a fantastic concert. Once again, a special thanks to our two wonderful choir teachers for their dedication to the choir. The students preformed and behaved beautifully.

Farmer Relief Mufti Day As you were aware from the note previously sent home, next Tuesday we will be having a mufti day for donations for the farmers. Students may wear a farmer’s outfit or tidy mufti in exchange for a donation. This is not a gold coin donation. This is a dig deep donation as our farmers really need our support. See the P&C section of this newsletter for further information on how to donate large sums of money.

After School Finishes

Due to a number of students/teenagers using all our amenities from families who are having training sessions at Glenorie Park in the afternoon, our side gate will be locked at 4:00pm. Children have been entering school grounds and misusing school equipment. We would appreciate your cooperation in this matter and leave the school gates before 4:00pm.

Kinder 2019 Thank you to all the new kindy parents (lots) that have visited to enrol their child for next year. We are looking forward to hopefully having two kindy classes again next year. If you have a preschool child starting school next year, we encourage you to submit his/her enrolment forms as soon as possible. Similarly, if you know of a family with a child starting school next year and they have yet to enrol, please ask them to contact the front office for an application form. As always, they are welcome to contact Mrs Pearce for a walk and talk tour of the school.

ARE YOU EXCITED YET?!? Congratulations to the Country Fair Committee for an outstanding job in organising what will be the most exciting day that Glenorie has EVER seen. The Country Fair is only six weeks away and we are VERY excited. The focus for the day is for all families to have FUN. We are also hoping to raise funds that will go towards a number of big projects in the school, like playground equipment for the back playground and large fans for the hall. The success of the day is dependent upon parent volunteers. We are sure, as always, that you will rise to the occasion and be able to offer at least one hour on the day for your class stall. The raffle ticket competition will go home on Thursday 23rd August with a note explaining the weekly prizes. All raffle tickets should be returned by Friday 21st Sept and the Grand Prize will be drawn at the Country Fair.

Become involved in your child’s education. Enjoy learning! Lyn Pearce Principal
