Glassford Hill Ward Campout and Dutch Oven Dessert Cook-off!! --When?: Friday September 18 th and Saturday September 19 th --Where?: Powell Springs campground –For map and driving directions, see map below. For a more detailed map and customizable views, go to http://tinyurl.com/powellsprings . --Why?: Dutch oven peach cobbler. Do you need another reason? --General Info: We will be camping in an established campground with bathroom facilities, picnic tables, fire rings and the like. Space is limited, so only bring a pop-up trailer or RV if you (or your spouse) refuse to sleep in a tent. This spot is beautiful, but it lends itself much more to tent camping than anything else. Dinner will not be provided , so bring provisions for you and your family. Fires are allowed , but only in designated fire rings. Bring a dutch oven and your own special ingredients to enter our dutch oven cook-off, to be judged by the bishopric. As parking is limited , please follow parking instructions that will be provided upon arrival. Tentative Itinerary— Friday-- 5:00-7:30pm—Arrival and individual family dinners (at 6pm coals will be hot for dutch ovens). 7:30pm—Dutch oven desserts judged by bishopric. Desserts will be shared following the judging. Bishopric firelight presentation will follow. Saturday-- 7:00am—Wake up/clean up 8:00am sharp—Breakfast provided by Elder’s quorum 9:30am— Survival Demos by Survival Savvy ward members (come find out how to survive).
