(North-Norfolk singer-songwriter Paul Thompson is embarking on an epic musical journey round Britain during summer 2015...in a milk float! Playing house concerts, festivals, arts centres, pubs, clubs, village halls and inspiring outdoor spaces, Paul will be travelling across Britain in a specially converted milk float that utilises solar panels to power stage lighting and music gear. He will be the first solo musician ever to tour Britain in a milk float! Described as ‘blissed out Donovan meets John Martyn’, Paul uses a loop box (think Ed Sheeran) to layer guitar, vocals and rhythm. Since turning professional, Paul has toured Europe, the US, Canada and New Zealand, but maintains that this will be his most exciting tour so far. Proceeds from the tour will be used to set up a community music project, bringing music to rural parts of Norfolk.Paul will be performing the songs from his forthcoming third album 'Lost in the Land of Midnight Sun', written and recorded at his Norfolk studio following his last tour of Alaska and Canada. Travelling up to 30 miles per day at a grand speed of 10mph, Paul's journey will take him from Norfolk as far as the Outer Hebrides and through the Highlands of Scotland to the Edinburgh Fringe.Fans can get involved in a number of ways, including joining the tour for a day or attending a song writing workshop, and there will be a number of free performances at Day Centres for the disabled. There is also a unique advertising opportunity for businesses to put their name and logo on the milk float. To find out more, have a look at the pledges page. Paul will also be keeping a blog of his journey and doing live updates on Facebook and Twitter.Paul is currently doing the bookings for the tour and is keen to hear from promoters, venue bookers, and potential House Concert hosts, as well as anyone who can help with charging his milk float for the night. If you are on, or close, to Paul's tour route then please get in touch...He will be playing @The Hideaway for one night only on Sunday the 14th of June!)
