CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) PROGRAMMES

“Partnership with a mission”

Our Directors have partnered with various entities in giving back to the community. We think it’s important that we use our skills, knowledge and resources to make our communities better places to live and work. We also have the responsibilities as citizens: to our environment; to the health and safety of our customers, employees, and the general public; to engage with our stakeholders; and to the education of future generations.  This means doing business in a responsible manner, one that dynamically takes into account those who affect and are affected by our activities. This is why we’re in this business; we know it makes a difference.

At Glamour, it is in our continued commitment to give back to the community, we believe that we should not only aim to be the best DMC, but to make a difference to the people and places in our surroundings. Our non-profit arm was developed on that premise. Dedicated to giving back to our local community, “Partnership with a mission” has made a significant impact by providing a link between persons in need and groups wishing to make a meaningful contribution in the Caribbean. As such, we have partnered with various entities which give us and our clients the opportunity to give back to the local community. Our goal is to assist meetings and incentives groups who want to say thank you in this manner, or who simply want to expand their generosity beyond their own communities. Some of our more popular “Partnership with a mission” programmes include:

School Sanitation and building Projects- rebuilding a playground in rural Jamaica... Education and Social Outreach- Donating School supplies to a needy institution… Santa for any Season- refurbishing a children’s home…

another one of Jamaica’s majestic waterfalls, “YS Falls’.YS Falls is another of Jamaica’s many waterfalls and due to its scenic and unique character it is arguable the best.  This beautiful sequence of waterfalls lined with abundance of picnic areas makes it a lovely outing for couples, elderly and the entire family. Nested in the hills of St. Elizabeth, YS Falls is a real taste of nature’s paradise. It sits on a large farm of approximately 2,000 acres dating back to 1684. There are two versions regarding the origin of the name ‘YS’ in YS Falls. The first is that it is derived from the Gaelic word “wyess” which means, winding, twisting or zigzag, hence we have YS Falls. The second account is

that the first two owners of the then 8,000 acres property were John Yates and Lt. Col. Richard Scott; consequently they combined the first initials of their surnames which are Y & S to give the name of the estate and hence the name of the attraction.

Staying true to original land use and allowing the experience of the farm traditions; to get to YS Falls you will be transported on the property by a farm tractor with a carriage attached at the back for passengers. The ride is a bit rough, lasting only for about ten minutes but is a definite change from more urban forms of transit.

YS Falls has something for everyone, there is no other place in Jamaica with such combinations. YS Falls consist of seven astonishing cascading waterfall, gushing into natural a pools. Experience the magic of the alluring pools fed by a natural underground water source. The water source of YS Falls begins in the Cockpit Country and flows into the Black River; it is also supported by many springs along the way. One of these springs originates on the YS Falls property itself. The waters are thought to have

9

mineral properties. YS Falls is also equipped with a canopy zip tour from the top of the waterfall to the bottom. Canopying over the falls is not only adventurous; it also gives an awesome bird’s eye view of the surroundings, which is truly a breathtaking sight. The ambiance is exhilarating to go along with the many activities available. The really beautiful, exotic and tropical picnic areas, river tubing and other activities make YS falls a complete recreational package.

The loans were repaid with Blue Mountain Coffee beans. Jamaica coffee growers still export around 85% of the crop to Japan.

KINGSTON CITY TOUR

Kingston is the largest English-speaking city in the Caribbean, has the seventh largest natural harbor in the world, and lies on a wide plain with the sea to the south and the St. Andrew Mountain as its backdrop to the north. It was founded in 1692 after an earthquake devastated the capital Port Royal.

The survivors moved to what is now Kingston and were able to plan a new city from scratch. It was laid out in a grid pattern, which remains today and makes it very easy to get around, especially in the downtown area. It became the capital in 1872, and considerable rebuilding was needed after an earthquake and fire on 14 January 1907 that killed almost 1,500 people.

Drive to the Bob Marley Museum where you get a tour about Bob’s musical career. (You are not allowed to wander at will, nor are cameras or tape recorders permitted).

Then it’s on to Devon House for tour. Devon House is a prime example of Jamaican Georgian architecture. Visitors to Jamaica should definitely visit this national monument and landmark. The house was built by Jamaica's first black millionaire, George Stiebel, at the end of the 19th century.

PORT ROYAL TOUR & SHOPPING

Visit Port Royal a dilapidated, ramshackle place of tropical lassitude. Today’s funky fishing hamlet was once the wealthiest city in the New World. In 1692 an earthquake destroyed Port Royal and 90 percent of the town disappeared under water, where it remains to this day. More than two thousand people died.

Today you still find the old buildings; some of them have been rebuilt, most of them in their original shape. There are plans to develop Port Royal as a tourist destination. On our way back, we stop by the shopping Mall.

SPANISH TOWN TOUR

The Spanish settlement of Villa de la Vega was founded by Governor Francisco de Garay in 1534 as the capital of the colony. Later, it was also called Santiago de la Vega or St. Jago de la Vega. Indigenous Taino had been living in the area for approximately a millennium before this, but this was the first European habitation on the south of the island.

34

Page 35: Glamour DMC - A SELECTION OF TOURS

When the English conquered Jamaica in 1655, they renamed the capital Spanish Town. Since the town was badly damaged during the conquest, Port Royal took on many administrative roles and functioned as an unofficial capital during the beginning of the English reign.

By The time Port Royal was decimated by an earthquake in 1692, Spanish Town had been rebuilt and was again functioning as the capital. Spanish Town remained as the capital until 1872, when the seat of the colony was moved to Kingston. Kingston

By 1755, serious rivalry from lobbyists caused increasing speculation about the continued suitability of Spanish Town as the capital. By 1836, Governor Lionel Smith observed that "the capital was in ruins, with no commercial, manufacturing and agricultural concern in operation". To worsen the situation on the heels of

The Morant Bay Rebellion of 1865, Sir John Peter Grant ordered the removal of the capital to Kingston (1872) which, with its spectacular harbours and major trade links had come to be considered the natural capital of the island. After the capital was removed Spanish Town lost much of its life and grandeur. The city is home to certain memorials, the national archives, a small population, and one of the oldest Anglican churches outside of England (the others are in Virginia and Maryland). You can spend 2 hours wandering this town and taking in its attractions, including the Jamaica People's Museum of Craft &Technology. Also check out the English cathedral with the Spanish name, San Jago de la Vega, dating from 1666.

National Gallery of Jamaica, Kingston

The island's largest gallery has 18 sub-galleries arranged over 25,000 square feet of floor space. The gallery was first established in November 1974 at Devon House, Kingston's most famous Great House,

35

but after eight years, it was transferred to its present location in the Kingston Mall. There are eight permanent exhibitions, including a pre-20th-century collection of historical artefacts’ that can be traced back to before the 1400s.

There is also an international collection containing works from various countries.

LOVERS LEAP –ST ELIZABETH

The beauty spot known as Lovers' Leap emerges where the Santa Cruz mountains come to an abrupt end at Jamaica's south coast, exposing a 1,700ft vertical drop down to the waves crashing on Cutlass Bay below. The lookout provides a fantastic vantage point to look for miles out to the Caribbean Sea. Along the coast the view stretches as far as Rocky Point (Clarendon) to the East and to Treasure Beach in the West. You will be reminded of how high you are standing when you notice birds, clouds and light aircraft flying below you!

Lovers' leap is named after two slave lovers from the 18th century, Mizzy and Tunkey. Legend has it that their master "Chardley" took a liking to the girl and, in a bid to have her for himself, he arranged for her lover to be sold to another estate. The pair fled to avoid being separated but were eventually chased to the edge of a large steep cliff. Rather than face being caught and separated, the pair chose to end their lives by jumping together.

Lover’s Leap is quite unique; perching at such height above the Caribbean ocean is truly spectacular. It is truly a bird’s eye view of the wide and majestic Caribbean ocean. The choppy waves that bash the shoreline may not be safest place to swim. However, having the privilege of being on the same height with the birds when they are soaring in the skies is quite remarkable. Lover’s Leap St Elizabeth offers a refreshing alternative to the old worn out traditional tourist places in Jamaica.

A restaurant is located on site providing sumptuous meals. This restaurant is adorned in love, heart shape all around. The chef even gets creative and portioned rice on the plates in a heart shape. However, don’t forget the wonderful view that dining at this restaurant provides.

Falmouth to Ocho Rios “Highlight and Adventure Tour”

Falmouth, capital of the parish of Trelawny, is located on Jamaica’s north coast about 30 minutes from Montego Bay. The town is home to approximately 4,000 residents. Falmouth was founded in 1769 by Thomas Reid, an English planter. During sugar’s heyday, the port was the major shipping point for sugar, molasses, rum, coffee going to England, and slaves coming to the island. After the trade ended, the once booming town, which had piped water before New York City, fell on hard times. But with its extensive stock of Georgian buildings, the largest in the Caribbean, the town is experiencing new interest.

The Pier opened in 2011 following a nearly $200 million construction of a new deep water pier that can accommodate the largest ships in Royal Caribbean’s fleet. These 16-deck mega ships can transport 6,000 passengers and 2,000 crew.

As we make our way out of Falmouth, be sure to enjoy the beautiful sceneries along the coastline. Take a wonderful scenic 2-hour drive along a portion of the famous North coast of Jamaica through the Towns of Runaway Bay, St Ann and Ocho Rios. See some of Jamaica’s most beautiful villages, resorts, vacation homes and historical attractions as we highlight the town of Ocho Rios! The name "Ocho Rios" has two possible origins: it is either a direct translation from Spanish meaning "eight rivers" or an adulteration of "las chorreras" (the spouts), reflecting the large number of waterfalls in the area. Ocho Rios is located in St.

Ann's parish about 60 miles from Annotto to Discovery Bay on a half-moon shaped cove in the middle of Jamaica's northern coastline. It was formerly a fishing port and was also known for its banana exports. Now it is a pretty resort town with stunning waterfalls and beaches and interesting colonial-period buildings like the Geddes Memorial Church and the Anglican Church. The town's business and commercial center is Pineapple Place.

Stop and view on of the most beautiful scenery on route to Ocho Rios; Columbus Park, the historic open-air museum that sits by the side of the road in this north coast town, and which has been home to many relics from the Spanish colonial period. At Columbus Park Museum in nearby Discovery Bay, where the explorer first dropped anchor off Jamaica, you can view a water wheel used to power a sugarcane mill, as well as a canoe hollowed Arawak–style from a log.

39

Page 40: Glamour DMC - A SELECTION OF TOURS

You'll see a tally, used to count bananas carried on men's heads from plantation to ship, as well as a planter's strongbox with a weighted lead base to prevent its theft. Other items are 18th–century cannons, a Spanish water cooler and calcifier, a fish pot made from bamboo, a corn husker, and a water wheel. Pimento trees, from which allspice is produced, dominate the park

We now embark on a scenic sightseeing drive through the Fern Gully rain forest, a tropical paradise that is interspersed with a plethora of Ferns & Trees, your tour guide will feature some of the wonderful herbs and spices and tell you about their therapeutic usages, making optional stops along the way to purchase souvenirs or take pictures. Our journey continues through local neighborhoods (1500 ft above sea level) with views of Shaw Park Gardens, Coyaba Gardens and a breathtaking view of Ocho Rios Bay. Nestled on the green hills which gently roll towards the white sandy coves and turquoise waters of exciting Ocho Rios, you and your family can take a family outing to amazing Coyaba River Gardens. Relax and take in the Caribbean sun at this wonderful oasis that is situated just 1 ¼ miles outside the center Ocho Rios town. Overlooking Ocho Rios Bay, Coyaba River Gardens and Mahoe Falls is a heavenly place of pure delight. A paradise that posses a stunning range of tropical river gardens and gorgeous mineral waterfalls, all for you to enjoy. You will love the pleasant views of the coastlines, as the natural settings provide the perfect place for you to spend an entire day amongst comfortable ambiance with its museum of island history.

With so much to offer, Coyaba River Gardens is a great place for fun activities. Enjoy everything from a quiet picnic to a blissful climb to one of the island’s natural beauty. Coyaba River Gardens is a peaceful and charming option to enjoy Ocho Rios.

There's no better way to finish your day than by taking a refreshing climb up magnificent Dunns River Falls.About 180 feet (55 m) high and 600 feet (180 m) long, the waterfalls are terraced like giant stair steps of which some are man-made improvements. Several small lagoons are interspersed among the vertical sections of the falls. The falls empties itself into the nearby Caribbean Sea, where there are also various beach activities.

Climbing up the waterfalls is a popular tourist activity and is often, but not exclusively, performed with the help of tour

guides from the park. It takes around 1-1.5 hours to climb with short breaks for photographs and video recordings taken by the tour guides. The falls is bordered by lush, green vegetation that shades the area from the sun. This helps keep the area cool as people try to climb the waterfall. The falls can be hiked with relative ease, often in a hand-holding human chain led by a guide

40

Page 41: Glamour DMC - A SELECTION OF TOURS

Dunn’s River Falls are fed by spring water, which is rich with calcium carbonate and is depositing travertine. Waterfall is described by geologists as "a living phenomenon" because falls are continuously rebuilt by the sediments from spring water. Dunn's River Falls is one of the very few travertine waterfalls in the world that actually empties directly into the sea

Sunscreen, swimsuits, towels, comfortable clothing and closed-toes shoes are recommended TIPS for guides that help with climbing the falls is mandatory for this tour
