Glacier Bay is a United States national park and preserve in the Alaska, west of
Juneau.The park covers an
area of 13,287 square kilometers, most of which - protected
places.

Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve occupies the northernmost section of the southeastern
Alaska coastline, between the
Gulf of Alaska and
Canada. The National Park is
under the protection of
UNESCO.

Nature Coast Glacier Bay is a group of
glaciers, snow-capped mountain range with peaks covered with forests, deep fjords, rivers and lakes. The park has only a few
roads, so cruises and airplane or helicopter tours - the best way to
explore it.

There are bears, deers in the forests and along the coast,
near the shore you can see the whales.
Of leisure activities offered in the park: fishing, hiking, rock
climbing, rafting, walking on the sea in boats and catamarans.

The Climate of Glacier Bay is marine, it is influenced by ocean currents. On the coast winters are rather warm (-2 - +5 ° C), and the summer - cold (+10 - +15 ° C). April, May and June -
the driest months of the year. In September and October, most precipitation falls. In the mountains the temperature is significantly lower, in the winter there are a lot of snow.

The park is open all year round, 24 hours a day, but in winter park opportunities are minimal. The information center is open from May to early September from 11:00 am to 9:00
pm. To get to the town of Gustavus, which is located next to a park, is possible only by water or by air taxi from Juneau.
