We are rapidly approaching the end of our second year since we expanded GKN Aerospace Engine Systems to include the majority of GKN Engine related businesses.

Our key objectives were to:

• Moreeffectivelyintegrateandleveragesynergiesacrossour businesses, functional disciplines and production facilities

• Establishamorecommonorganizationalstructuretoope-rate more efficiently within our business and to provide a more clear, focused interface for our customers

• Leverageourcombinedcapabilitiesacrosstheproductlifecycle from design to aftermarket to organically grow our business

• Establishaclearproductstrategythatissupportedbyourtechnology strategy and industrial capabilities

• Provideopportunitiesforallofourbusinessestoaccessthe diverse capabilities of the over 4000 skilled people in Engine Systems and for our people to pursue career opportunities across our business portfolio.

We have made much progress in each of these areas and have many tangible positive results to look back on. There has been a great deal of hard work and many impressive contribu-tionsfromacrosstheentireorganization.

History:Started by Volvo Aero in 2008 and was acquired by GKN in 2012. A new office serving the whole of GKN was inaugurated in 2013 and today GKN Aerospace IndiaismuchmorethananEngineeringoffice.Itisan engineering centre of excellence and our hub for procurement in Asia. The site gives us a solid local identity and is a strategic site for the future growth of GKN.

Background:TheGothenburgDesignOfficewasinaugurated in August 2012 and has since become a very popular work place for both employees and consul-tants, living in Gothenburg. Employees can work in the office for a few days a week, which is good both for the employee as well as the environment.
