Darragh Morgan plays an 1848 Giuseppe Rocca violin, generously on loan from The Morgan-Rocca Instrument Trust which is administered by The Royal Society of Musicians. It is one of a small number of instruments loaned to exceptional string players through the Society’s Fine Instrument Scheme. Britain’s oldest musical charity, The Royal Society of Musicians has been helping musicians in need since its establishment by Handel, Thomas Arne and their friends in 1738. The Society is still run by musicians for musicians and its Members are all professional musicians. Thanks to donations and legacies over nearly 300 years, around £500,000 is distributed each year to musicians who are unable to work due to illness or accident. The Society continues to welcome donations or legacies, as well as loans or bequests of instruments. 26 Fitzroy Square, London W1T 6BT 020 7629 6137 [email protected] royalsocietyofmusicians.org @RSMusicians royalsocietyofmusicians royalsocietyofmusicians Founded 1738 Incorporated by Royal Charters 1790 & 1987 Patron: Her Majesty The Queen President: Judith Weir CBE Registered Charity Number 208879
