A Small Apartment for Style-Seeking Travelers in Budapest

What we are going to feature today is a tiny apartment in Budapest that is designed by the POSITION Collective. It was created for the purpose of “providing a memorable accommodation experience for travelers.” The design is simple, but it has everything one needs when travelling like a bed, open closet, kitchen, dining nook and bathroom. The highlight of the space

is an eye-catching elevated level solution for storage that was built only with the use of plywood. The wall storage doesn’t merely bring a natural touch to the interior but it also seems to appear like a “functional puzzle game involving the double bed, the storages and all the kitchen equipment.” All in all the modern chic design of the apartment is very interesting!

Brooklyn Decker’s Eclectic Texas Home Turns On the

Southern Charm

New mom and actress Brooklyn Decker may well be adding another hyphen to her résumé. When we took time away from the hustle of SXSW to spend a day at the Austin ranch-style retreat she shares with her tennis star husband, Andy Roddick, our interest was piqued upon learning the name of the couple’s interior designer.

It’s Decker. An avid design aficionado and art enthusiast, the actress (who co-stars in season two of Grace & Frankie, streaming on Netflix beginning May 6) undertook the redesign of their sprawling five-bedroom, five-and-a-half–bath abode entirely herself, a process that involved pilgrimages to marble yards and bartering at Round

Tucked into the secluded, tree-lined acreage of West Austin, the Decker/Roddick c o m p o u n d could easily be considered a Flush with a mélange of natural wood, stone, and light-filled charisma, it’s easy to infer why the well-

traveled couple favors the dwelling so well as a hideaway. “I love interior designers,” she says. “I love interior design more than a lot of things in life.”

The minute I saw this design, I was mesmerized. Yes… over a cloud concrete toilet roll holder. The Cloud is a wall mounted storage shelf that has cumulus cloud-shaped scallops that perfectly fit toilet paper rolls. Consumable bathroom supplies normally taking up space in storage can now be displayed with this design.

Part of a series of concrete products by Frenchmen Bertrand Jayr and Lyon Béton, this functional sculpture

turns an extremely ordinary and let’s face it, rather ugly, product into something that is beautiful… and it can hold many, many rolls!
