Following the amazing success of the original Series 1 Traveler, Gitzo launches the new generation of this fantastic professional collection. Despite being the most imitated tripod on the market, the Gitzo Traveler stays unmatched in terms of performance and stability, and the new version makes this difference even clearer. The improvements are substantial: the tripod’s compactness and light weight have been pushed right to the limit in this project, while at the same time stability and torsion rigidity are amazingly increased, especially in the column locking assembly. Torsion rigidity is now so high that the new Traveler performance can be compared to much larger tripods, making it an even more appealing combination for stability, size, weight and price. The design is derived from the limited edition 90th anniversary Titanium Traveler, and it has been developed with the most advanced 3D modelling software in order to achieve a ultra-lightweight structure and yet extreme sturdiness and rigidity. The tripod features all of Gitzo’s most advanced features, such as 6X tubing, G-Lock, ground level, removable self locking feet, rapid and reversible column and retractable hook.The new Series 1 Traveler is available as a stand alone 4 section

G-lock tripod, and as kit in a 5 section traditional lock version for maximum compactness and in the 4 section g-lock version. Both kits come with the head in the quick release attachment version; however they also come with a free conversion kit that allows the user to easily change the camera attachment system from quick release to a fixed disc. Another pioneering product in the collection is the new series 1 Traveler head that perfectly matches the new tripods for lightweight, compactness and more importantly max load and performance. The main body is made of casted lightweight magnesium, and the sphere is the revolutionary patented Gitzo “Bubble Ball” PTFE treated, mounted on PTFE bushings. This head is exceptionally smooth and guarantees a safe lock up to 6 kg (13,2 lbs) measured according to Gitzo standard (15 kg/33 lbs if measured according toCompetitors’ standard). The new series 1 Traveler comes with a smart Gitzo display cleaner and a convenient anti- dust bag for packing and transportation. The textile anti-dust bag is an answer to environmental protection; aiming to reduce the amount of plastic bags that the global industry produces every year.

The beautiful design is derived from the limited edition Titanium and Ocean tripod.It has been developed by advanced 3D modelling software. It offers torsion rigidity, stability and performance equivalent to much larger tripods.

The new Series 1 Traveler combines the compactness and light weight of the Gitzo Traveler System with the stability and size of a regular Mountaineer Series 1 tripod.It is dedicated to the high-end user seeking for a highly portable support with no compromise.

The Traveler is the most compact carbon fibre tripod in the world. When opened, it is as tall as a standard Gitzo tripod, but thanks to its ground-breaking 180° folding mechanism, it is 25% shorter than standard when folded.

The new Traveler kits come with a special conversion kit that allows you to easily convert the camera attachment from quick release into a fixed disc system.

The quick release attachment has been completely redesigned following the new Traveler philosophy: ultra compact, light, strong and intuitive. All controls are on the same side for ergonomics and a new lip has been added to the leading edge for an easier and foolproof plate insertion.
