THANK YOU!
Joe, Alannah and I would like to thank the staff, parents and children of Gisborne Primary School for
their financial and enthusiastic support of Alannah in going to the National School Sport Track and
Field Championships next week. We have been blown away by your generosity and excitement.
Alannah will share her experience and gratitude hopefully at an assembly in the near future. I am so
proud to be part of such a caring, supportive and generous school community.
Thank you. Miriam Hydon
BIKE EDUCATION
On Thursday 27th October, and Thursday
10th November, 15 Grade 5/6 students
were lucky enough to be selected to go to
Gisborne Secondary College to participate in
a Bike Education Program.
It was run by Year 11 students who were
doing the program as part of their
schooling.
We were taught how to brake properly,
signal when we are stopping and other tips on how to ride safely.
It was fun because we learnt many things and we got to ride our bikes around.

Salve! All the students have been doing a fantastic job revising what we have learnt over the year. One aspect of this is revising colours and numbers to 20 (venti). Maybe you could go on a hunting expedition around the house and try to find all the colours that your child knows or maybe you could say your phone number in Italian. You can google colours and numbers in Italian if you need a reference. In bocca al lupo (a way that Italians say “good luck”)!
Arrivederci. Signora Michielin.

PFA BOOK STALL AND SECOND HAND UNIFORM STALL
TOMORROW—FRIDAY 18TH NOVEMBER
This year the PFA has ordered a range of books through Scholastic to give children an
opportunity to purchase these at a book stall, to be held at lunch time tomorrow Friday 18th November.
All books will cost $2.00 and the selection includes books suitable for children from Prep
through to Grade 6. There are limited quantities of each book, so a limit of only one book per
child until sold out. This is the first time the PFA have run a book stall and if successful we
would like to continue to offer this in the future.
The PFA is also selling second hand uniform on the day.
All uniform items are on sale for only $2.00 per item!
Uniforms will also be available from the canteen after lunch
on the day until 3:25pm! Come and grab a bargain!

COMMUNITY NEWS
Piano lesson enrolments for 2017.
Wombat Music is currently taking
enrolments for 2017 at Gisborne Primary
School. These are individual half hour
piano lessons taken throughout the day
on a rotational basis – ie your child does
not miss out on the same session of
school each week. Juli Robinson, the
teacher, is a tertiary qualified music
teacher with many years of experience,
and caters her lessons to the individual
student’s interest. Students study music
notation, improvisation, composition and
performance skills, and have the
opportunity to partake in performances or
exams if they desire. Many Wombat
Music students have played at assembly
and the Gisborne Music Recital over the
past year.
If your child is interested in enrolling in
lessons, please contact the office for an
enrolment form. If you have any queries
please contact Juli at
