We, at GiS - Gesellschaft für integrierte Systemplanung mbH, are business part-ner of IBM since 2012 and develop – guided by our principle Usability – add-ons for IBM Maximo. These add-ons and enhancements optimise and broaden user-friendly the performance, functionalities and possibilities of Enterprise Asset Ma-nagement Systems (EAM). The interplay of objects, individual components and mutual dependencies is displayed clearly and user-friendly by the system in a tree structure. From here, it is among others possible to create new and view existing data records with a single click.

Your Benefit➔ Fast access to all data and key functionalities in IBM Maximo

➔ Optimised ease of use – significantly reduced workload GiS Maximo Explorer follows the user: the hierarchical structure allows the

user to gain uncomplicatedly relevant information without wasting time for searching and therefore to fulfil tasks effectively and efficiently.

➔ Optimised overview – all at a glance The tree nodes offer information about locations/objects/entities and its

connections/relations with a simple “roll out”: function-, product- or location- oriented.

➔ Time saving – straight and fast fulfilments of tasks The clear and simple form of the GiS Maximo Explorer allows the user to find

quickly the required locations/objects as well as the respective information. Furthermore, it is possible to start new tasks like creating new data records or service requests directly from the tree.

GiS Maximo ExplorerThe navigation tree for a better overview and easy operation in IBM Maximo

➔ Seamless integration into the IBM Maximo surface

➔ Ability to fade in and out

➔ Different views of systems/objects. e.g.: Functional view: What does the system/object do? Spatial view: Where is the system/object located?

➔ Display of all linked systems/objects and its data, as well as the respective parts and additional information

➔ Display of additional information for the respective location or object IBM Maximo standard objects: Open/closed service requests Open/closed work orders Components/Parts Non-core IBM Maximo objects for industry solutions: Clearances Clearance-Tags Workflow actions Attachments/Doclinks

View - select - navigate - act

➔ Directly from the tree nodes you can open all objects via context menu, create new objects, trigger or create actions (i.e. service requests, work orders, PM). These actions open up the respective Maximo form and data is automati-

cally inserted in the appropriate fields.

➔ A search function with integrated auto-completion shows the requested object fast and without detours.

Functions: Acting efficiently via simple clicks

“„Search functionality with integrated auto- completion finds and shows the object fast and without deviations.“

➔ Quick change between linked tree e.g. functional view by using multiple tabs.

➔ Drag&Drop From the tree directly into the application form: simply by dragging an

object from the tree and dropping it into a form. The data is automati-cally inserted correctly.

Manage the plant hierarchy using Drag&Drop in the tree. Create your favourite-items-list by using Drag&Drop. Simply fetch an ob-

ject and drop it into the integrated favourite box. From now on you can access your favourite objects instantly.

A practical exampleAn oil pump has a cracked housing and has to be welded.

1. The employee looks for a specific oil pump in the functional view of the GiS Maximo Explorer, the tree expands up to the respective oil pump and displays all components which belong to this oil pump. The employee creates a service request by selecting the action from the context menu of the pump.

2. The maintenance planner modifies the service request because the maintenance affects only the housing. In order to modify the service request he drags the housing via Drag&Drop to the input field “location” in the IBM Maximo screen “Service Request”. Thereby the service request is allocated directly to the housing.

4. Fire detectors have to be deactivated for welding works. Conse-quently, the planner creates the following work steps in the form ”Create Work Order“:a. Work step “welding” (sequence number 20) b. Work step “deactivate fire detectors” (sequence number 10).This means, the planner creates a subtask, looks for the affected fire detectors in the tree view ”Location/Room“ and enters the place of the fire detector via Drag & Drop into the location input field in the “Create Work Order” application.

3. The planner creates a work order by simply clicking the menu item „Create Work Order“.

5. When logging in, the maintenance staff/employee can see the work order in the GiS Maximo Explorer. In concrete, the work order is dis-played as additional information under the object oil pump.
