is to provide programs and services which support older
adults and their families by encouraging independence,
well-being and connection to the community.
The Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council operates
the Palatine Township Senior Center, the first accredited
senior center in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, and
one of only five in the State of Illinois. Only two percent of
the approximately 11,000 senior centers in the United
States are accredited.
For over 40 years, the Council has provided education,
health, wellness, and social services, in addition to
nutrition and recreation for adults 50 and older. An
independent, private, not-for-profit corporation, PTSCC is
governed by a voluntary Board of Directors.

PTSCC is the first Senior Center in the Northwest Suburbs accredited by the National Council on Aging’s National Institute of Senior Centers (NCOA/NISC) and the third to be accredited in Illinois. We were the first senior center in the United States to be accredited under the 2010 NISC Standards.
PTSCC has been providing services to the community for over 40 years.
PTSCC provided services to nearly 2,900* clients in Fiscal Year 2015:
♦ Health and Wellness – 288
♦ Lifelong Learning - 555
♦ Home Delivered Meals – 115
♦ Noon Dining – 374
♦ Recreation - 665
♦ Social services – 1,567
*(Clients may receive more than one service.
Services will not total 2,900)
PTSCC’s current annual budget is $998,200.
82% of our budget is for direct services for older adults.
Each year, PTSCC must raise almost 60% of its budget
through fundraising events, such as Girls Night Out, the
Gala, donations, rental income and fees for service.
