Girl's Day Fete Conducted At Torrance High Torranee high school's annual observance of Girls' Day was held this year on the afternoons of May 11 and 15. held honoring tne outstanding git)?, of the school, planned and served by the Future Homemak- ers of America, under the direc- tion of Mrs. Madeline Uiquhart, home economics teacher, and Mrs. Cans, cafeteria manager. In the afternoon the Girls' League held their traditional May Pole ceremonial installation, witn music furnished by the Girls' Glee club, directed by Miss Cl^ra Stons. A talk entitled "You and Your Better Sell" was given by Miss Charlsic Evans, who has been a model for the past fifteen years. The program was ar- ranged by Miss Elizabeth Parks, girls' vice principal. On the following afternoon, a volleyball playday was held un- der the leadership of the Gins Athletic association and the girls' physical education teachers, Miss Katherine Jennings, Miss Tftelma Ward and Mrs. Kodna Wisham. After the afternoon of games, j which were officiated by mem- bers of the G.A.A. and women faculty members, the winners wore announced. The Red Team, with Mary Tib- bitts as captain, emerged vic- torious and was awarded the perpetual trophy. In second place was Phyliis Andersen's' Gold Team; third was Mickey Kapsch's Green Team, and fourth Peggy btucke's Blue Team. The best appearing individual teams, Shirley Cox' Senior High Blue Team and Wanda Busiek's Junior High Green Team, were awarded prizes. Guests at these affairs were the girls' vice principals, G.A.A. sponsors and presidents, Girls League presidents and additional WJjresentatives of the Marine League schools, and Mrs. Iris Albert, supervisor of Home Mak- log and Mrs. A. C. Turner, presi- dent of the Torrance High P.     Torranee high school's annual observance of Girls' Day was held this year on the afternoons of May 11 and 15.

    held honoring tne outstanding git)?, of the school, planned and served by the Future Homemak- ers of America, under the direc- tion of Mrs. Madeline Uiquhart, home economics teacher, and Mrs. Cans, cafeteria manager.

    In the afternoon the Girls' League held their traditional May Pole ceremonial installation, witn music furnished by the Girls' Glee club, directed by Miss Cl^ra Stons.

    A talk entitled "You and Your Better Sell" was given by Miss Charlsic Evans, who has been a model for the past fifteen years. The program was ar- ranged by Miss Elizabeth Parks, girls' vice principal.

    On the following afternoon, a volleyball playday was held un- der the leadership of the Gins Athletic association and the girls' physical education teachers, Miss Katherine Jennings, Miss Tftelma Ward and Mrs. Kodna Wisham.

    After the afternoon of games, j which were officiated by mem- bers of the G.A.A. and women faculty members, the winners wore announced.

    The Red Team, with Mary Tib- bitts as captain, emerged vic- torious and was awarded the perpetual trophy. In second place was Phyliis Andersen's' Gold Team; third was Mickey Kapsch's Green Team, and fourth Peggy btucke's Blue Team.

    The best appearing individual teams, Shirley Cox' Senior High Blue Team and Wanda Busiek's Junior High Green Team, were awarded prizes.

    Guests at these affairs were the girls' vice principals, G.A.A. sponsors and presidents, Girls League presidents and additional WJjresentatives of the Marine League schools, and Mrs. Iris Albert, supervisor of Home Mak- log and Mrs. A. C. Turner, presi- dent of the Torrance High P.
