Do Your Girl Scouts like to sing?Sweet Adelines International will teach the art of barbershop singing to your troop!

Sweet Adelines International hascreated an activity patch tointroduce girls to the joy ofsinging with others in four- part harmony.

LET SWEET ADELINES TEACH YOUR SCOUTS TO SING BARBERSHOP A CAPPELLA HARMONY! Sweet Adelines will introduce them to four-part harmony barbershop style, give tips about how to emcee and provide an opportunity to experience the thrill of performing for an audience.

Arrangements can be made for any length presentation, such as: • 1- or 2-hour introduction to barbershop a cappella harmony.

• ½ day presentation and singing.

• Full day presentation, singing and performance.

Sample Schedule:

9:30 a.m. ..................................................Sweet Adelines Staff and Girl Scout Leaders arrive, set up.

10:00 a.m. ..............................................Girls and their leaders arrive.

10:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. ............Introduction to barbershop harmony.

10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. ............1st – 3rd grade girls split off and learn rounds, singalongs, etc.

4th – 12th grade girls learn about barbershop harmony, learn a tag or short song, share songs they know from Scouts.

11:45 a.m. ...............................................The two groups perform for each other.

12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. ............Lunch

12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. ...............Work on a package to present at a community venue, such as a nursing home.

Learn about stage presence, emcee material, appropriate music selection, etc.

1:30 p.m. ...................................................Leave for performance if it is at another location.

1:45 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. ....................Perform

2:30 p.m. ..................................................Return, fill out evaluations and wrap-up session.
