Preparation Checklist Make sure you have reserved a room where you can conduct the interview, and ensure the applicant knows how to get there

1. Make sure there is a glass of water, a pen and paper in the interview room.

2. Review application questionnaires, resume (curriculum vitae), motivation letter and online test results.

3. Note down key questions with regards to the application.

4. Prepare ‘Profile, motivation & expectation’ assessment.

ü Profile: read through the student criteria questions and make sure you know the ideal EP profile for the this sub product

ü Motivation: read through the motivation questions ü Expectation setting: read through the expectation setting questions and make sure

you know the expectations from your side (type of job, type of company, country partners, duration, process)

ü NOTE: in the motivation and expectation setting section; you include the leadership development aspect!

ü You will ask what they want to learn ü You will explain that AIESEC is aiming to develop young people’s leadership

through the exchange experiences we provide

5. Prepare competency assessment ü Read the competency definitions and main characteristics ü Read through the questions and modify based on the candidate’s experience ü Decide if the order of the questions should be changed; develop additional

questions if necessary

6. Prepare technical skills assessment

Outline for Interview Opening 1. Greet the candidate, giving your name and position. 2. Explain the interview's purpose:

ü To acquaint interviewer and candidate. ü To learn more about the candidate's background and experience. ü To help the candidate understand the position and organization.

3. Describe the interview plan:

4. Give key tips & insights:

ü Indicate you will be taking notes ü If at any point of time you do not know a question, you can say so and we will come

back to that question later ü If clarification of a question is needed, don’t hesitate to ask ü Try to answer honestly to show who you really are

5. Inform candidate about the approximate duration of the interview 6. Ask the candidate if her or she has any questions before you start the interview

Closing the Interview 1. Introduce the last question. ‘I am going to ask a question that I'd like you to think about for a few minutes before answering. While you're thinking, I'll review my notes to see if there is other information that I need.’ The question is:

Why should you be considered for this position? (Opportunity to evaluate the candidate's selling skills & self-awareness).

2. Review notes. -- While the candidate is thinking about the question, review your notes to identify any area where more information is needed, or information needs clarification. 3. Last answer -- Ask for the candidate's answer to the last question. 4. Additional questions -- Ask any additional questions based on the review of your notes. 5. Tell the candidate the interview is over. 6. Explain the candidate the next steps in the process -- When candidate will be hearing the results -- When candidate will then have first meeting with EP manager -- What will happen in that meeting
