Well first off, thanks for opening the cover ofour catalogue and taking a few minutes toread our thoughts this spring. We have justabout been through the alphabet sincepurchasing our first few purebred females.We have made our fair share of mistakes overthe years, but we learned from them and ithas brought us to where we are today andfor that we are truly thankful. If you havebeen to our sale in the past we sure hope tosee you again, and if you have not been toour yard we would sure appreciate a chanceto feed you lunch and possibly put a bull towork for you.

For those not familiar with our yard and ranch, we don’t have many trees for shelter, andour pastures have none. Our cattle have to be able to withstand the elements and for thatwe breed for hair. We do not feed grain to the cows, with the occasional exception ofcereal silage, so our cattle have to be the easy doing type that don’t require any specialattention. For this reason we have been feeding a TMR ration with the mix wagon to thebulls, as this is how feedlots operate in order to be profitable. Dave Moffatt, of 3M Beef,does our feed testing and balances the ration for us. Our bulls are not fat, they aremuscular athletes ready to go to work for you. Our livelihood is almost entirely our cattleso they have to be profitable, therefore we require longevity. They have to be correct, andmade right from the ground up if they are going to last for many years. We now have 7children in this yard so temperament is a must as the older ones are quite often outhelping! We incorporated a new slogan at weaning time last fall, “NO Second Chances”,any animal that acts up gets loaded on the pot and sent with the commercial steers in thefall. Its hard shipping a good looking bull calf, but the harder you cull the stronger the penof bulls is!

We have always bred for calving ease, and the last few years we have been focusing on birth weight as well. We know even our heavier birthweight bulls will calve with ease because they are made right, but if you are looking for a small birth weight with lots of grow, we have lots. Weadded the Tandem bull to our breeding program in 2014 because of his muscle, hair, and birth weight, and from his first bunch of sons it looks likehe is working very well for us. As you can see from our catalogue we offer a good volume discount, and if you are out of province we are committed to getting your bull to you.We decided to include a few testimonials this year from cattlemen that have been with us for many years, some with quite a few G.Bros bulls intheir battery, and we thank them for their comments. The 107T Dam always brings in one of the top calves, and has had a lotof sons in our sales. Beautiful uddered cow with rich milk.

We have kept two sons of 538W for herdsires. Governor 624Y andHawgWild 861A are both her progeny. Very consistent genetics here.

I have seen increased weaning weights using Gilliland bulls. The mostimportant thing in my opinion is that when I buy a bull there I knowthey will look after me, and that is priceless.

Theright of property will not pass until final payment is made. Bidding: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to attend the sale mayphone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives.Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale. Disputes: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, thebuyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’sdecision is final. Announcements: Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence overprinted matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements. Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals willbe cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals left with theseller must be insured. Certificate of Registration: Each registered animal will carry papers issued by the CanadianCharolais Association or Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry duly transferredwill be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made. Delivery: Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale. The purchaser agreesshipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practicalafter the sale, at the buyer’s risk. Breeder Guarantee - Bulls: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove abreeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writingto the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull hasreached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of six months to provethe bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. Exception Guarantee: In case where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgicalreproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is notresponsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness notapparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort ofbuyers, neither the sale manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any responsibility and disclaimany liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property.
