Technology: GPS & “Geocaching”

Using real-world technology with handheld GPS units. Explore longitude & latitude coordinates & how satellites track. Students learn how to ‘mark’ points & ‘find’ points. Application: Field trip to Hammock State Park to explore “geocaching”-a recent worldwide phenomenon of a hobby.
