The Turkish food industry represents a wealth of opportunity for international companies. Two newgroups, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supplies (MAPA) from Brazil and the Chamber ofCommerce and Industry of Serbia, participated for the first time at the exhibition in 2012, as wellas an Afghanistan national group joined Ingredients Turkey.

According to the OECD, Turkey is expected to be the fastest growing economy of the OECDmembers during 2011-2017, with an annual average growth rate of 6.7 percent.

Turkey’s food industry has registered a steady growth in recent years, as consumers areexperiencing rising disposable incomes and have an increased awareness of foreign producewhich they wish to incorporate into their lifestyles.

There is particular demand for energy drinks, health food and ready meals . There are very fewdomestic suppliers of these products, opening up huge opportunities for international companies.

Ingredients Turkey took place alongside GIDA WorldFood Istanbul for the first time in 2012, and is dedicated to food ingredients, additives and flavourings. This co-location means that exhibitors can meet the full spectrum of visitors from the food industry.
