Treasurer’s Report: Jennifer
Tennison
Jennifer reported that the seed
money has sent for the Eastern
Specialty and that contributions
and fees are coming in for the
2016 National.
Howard made a motion to
approve the treasurer’s
report as presented.
Brenda seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.
Unfinished Business:
Howard reported that the
National at Purina in 2018 is
progressing with no current
issues. There was discussion
on a possible show Chair.
Howard and Kim will visit with
the prospect for their plan.
Regional Reports:
East - Janine reports that the
2017 National is awaiting the
final vote on the judge. She is
currently recruiting volunteers.
Perhaps all events can be han-
dled at the complex.
There was a great deal of
discussion on the show chair
and showing their dog. It must
be listed in the premium for the
show. Basically, the show
chair does not show their dog.
Janine reported they are in need
of medallions for BOB and
BOS. Howard will be sending
new name plates.
West – Kappy was reminded
that Ginny Maese needs to
submit an application to the
Board for the Western Regional
to be held February 2, 2017.
Howard will be contacting her.
South – Melisa asked about a
Southern Regional. There is
nothing in the works at this
time. She will ask Jennifer
what she needs to do. Jennifer
reported that she has many
volunteers but she needs
someone to video the Breed on
the day of the National. Kim is
in need of an “Honor Dog” for
the CGC.
Midwest – Mike reported on
the Mid Western Specialty.
There will be a supported entry
in DeKalb with the specialty in
Racine. Looking for a show
chair. He has already received
some good donations. They are
currently working on the
trophies. An application for the
new venue will be submitted.
Dates to follow.

supported entry to be held at
the DeKalb Dog Show.
Kim seconded.

Membership Pins: Brenda
reported that the membership
pins have been received. She
will be getting a list from
Cynthia Wallace of what
member receives what year pin.
Plans are to present the pins to
members attending the National
and others will be mailed at a
later date.
Rescue: Our draft for the
Rescue Code of Conduct was
discussed. Kappy asked
several questions. This project
was tabled for now for some
questions to be answered. Will
be voted on at a later date.
Pedigree List: There was dis-
cussion on a website –
www.GiantSchnauzerPedigrees
.com – that can be added to the
GSCA website at no cost. At
this website owners can add
their own info. Therefore, if
any information is incorrect it
is because it was not entered
correctly by the owner. There
will be a disclaimer to that
effect included on the website.
Kim made a motion to add
this Giant Pedigree link to the
GSCA website.

There was some discussion on
awards that will be awarded at
the National. Kim wanted to
recognize one particular dog for
perhaps the President’s Award.

approve this dog.

Election: Brenda reported that
all ballots were mailed on
September 6, 2016. Ballots are
coming in at a steady pace. All
ballots must be received by
Brenda no later than October 1,
2016.
