presents this 2day practical course, suitable for veterinarians from mixed and equine practice. Colic, weight loss and diarrhea are amongst the most frequently encountered conditions in equine practice and diagnosing a specific disease can at times be challenging. It will be a small group, practical based course. The aim is to provide a level of knowledge and skill that will allow effective management of acute and chronic GI disease.

Practical sessions will include:
Gastroscopy 1: Orientation and imaging of the squamous and glandular mucosa and proximal duodenum
Gastroscopy 2: Gastric and duodenal biopsy techniques
Case studies in small group sessions
Ultrasonography of the equine abdomen; The intestinal tract including stomach, small and large intestine, liver, kidneys, spleen, peritoneum
Abdominocentesis techniques
Long term catheter placement techniques
