Development

• A number of clans of the Sonike people came together under a leader with semi divine status called Dinga Cisse.

Location    

• It lies 400 miles northwest of modern Ghana.

• It is near the Ivory Coast and Nigeria. 

Economy

The economy had a diverse and rich resource base and as such, has one of the highest GDP per capita in Africa.

Time Period

• Time period was from 750 to 1076 A.D.• Nobody is sure when Ghana came into

being.
