In February, 2011, Global Communications became a member of the Hudaco Industries Group.

The Group derives its name and traces its existence to Hubert Davies & Co whose history and culture has been an integral part of the economic development of South Africa for almost 120 years.

Hudaco Industries imports and distributes engineering consumables, power tools, security, automotive and PMR communications products and is a listed company on the JSE with a staff complement of over 2400 employees .

TThhee CCoommppaannyy

Through the past decade, Global Communications has focused on supplying RF two way radio communications and telecommunication solutions to the African continent and since its inception in 1977, the company has grown from a small two-way radio company into a distributor of land mobile radios, CCTV surveillance equipment as well as a integrator of network infrastructure with a large staff complement including highly qualified technical

and design engineers.

Today, Global is present in more than 40 African countries through dealers, integrators and distributors. This presence is a result of the company being the African leader for the supply of Kenwood Land Mobile Radio (LMR) equipment and an active

telecommunications equipment supplier in Africa.

Global’s expansion into Africa is aimed to serve the needs of the rapidly growing mobile communications market, and the vision for the future, is to make Global Communications a major player in the telecommunications industry and commit ourselves to finding the best

and most cost effective solutions for our customers’ communications needs.

The Company is structured in various divisions where we are able to market various

Global is Kenwood’s exclusive distributor of communications equipment for Southern and East Africa including Nigeria and a non exclusive distributor for the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa, excluding Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. This Division also distributes the Zetron mission critical remote monitoring and control systems.

The Kenwood products distributed, include the whole range of both analogue and digital equipment covering the UHF, VHF, mid-band and HF bands.

Global Communications’ distribution operation comprises two departments:

- Domestic Sales: More than 250 active dealers

- Export Sales: More than 90 Active dealers.

The products that these divisions offer are:

- Kenwood - HF,VHF and UHF LMR products and accessories - Zetron - Remote monitoring and control systems - JPS Raytheon - Interoperability - Glocom - Midband mobile and portable radios - Webb - Antennas

TTaaccttiiccaall//MMiilliittaarryy DDiivviissiioonn The Tactical Division was established to supply and support equipment to the military. The primary market is the SANDF, but equipment has and will be supplied into various Armed Forces in Africa. The primary products being supplied and supported are mainly communications equipment in the HF (high frequency) and the UHF (ultra high frequency) range in all configurations. This would be handheld, manpack, repeater and vehicular applications. The Tactical Division has various suppliers and these include: Datron. Datron supplies military radios in the HF and VHF frequency bands in all

configurations. Barrett Tactical Communications Barrett manufacture military and Commercial HF

equipment in all configurations as well as military VHF equipment.

Kenwood, Japan. Some Armed Forces require that their administration and logistics

communications for their rural areas are commercial so as to save on the cost of expensive military radios. Kenwood assists in supplying commercial VHF and UHF commercial portables, mobiles and repeaters so that this requirement can be met.

In addition to the above list of equipment, the Tactical Division assists in the customising of solutions incorporating the equipment as listed above allowing Global Communications to provide a one-stop communications provider for the military.

This division markets and supports the following military Products:

The Telecoms/IT Division was established within Global to bring specialized, integrated

and complete solutions to the telecommunications industry. All solutions offered by Global are designed, engineered and implemented using equipment and technology from one or more of our strategic supplier partners, where with many of our principals we enjoy exclusive rights. Global supplies telecom solutions that are robust, reliable and flexible to

meet the customers’ needs.

This division also provides secure, carrier-grade, converged network infrastructures that enable service providers to efficiently deliver traditional TDM services while offering a smooth migration path to the next generation of services. Whether wired or wireless, using Aviat, 4RF, Airspan, Fibrolan and Keymile network solutions, Global can offer turnkey solutions in voice, data, IP, TDM, Video-On-Demand and multimedia services. While providing investment protection and eloquent migration strategies to enable new revenue

opportunities. Global helps carriers and operators to reduce network costs.

Global’s microwave solution includes the supply, dimensioning, installation and commissioning of point to point and point to multi-point microwave systems for network

operators to transport text, voice and video data.

Global offers carrier grade IP based NGN platforms for network migration from TDM based to IP based networks. In addition, triple play (video, audio and data) are efficiently transported via DSLAMs (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) to deliver ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL at speeds up to 100Mbps over traditional copper telephone wires.

Global Communications is the sole supplier of the Rohill infrastructure in South Africa.

TetraNode, manufactured by ROHILL, is an IP based system and is a 100% compliant TETRA system featuring a multi-protocol air interface capability and is based on a digital backbone of interconnected TetraNode eXchanges (TNX). The system architecture is

proven in practice and systems are scalable from single site to nation wide.

TetraNode is especially designed for digital radio trunking network applications in the safety and security related market. It includes a full range of redundancy and fallback features essential for this specific market segment.

Sepura designs and develops digital radios for the Emergency Services, Military, Transport and Utilities, and other commercial sectors. Sepura is based in Cambridge, UK, and has an international network of distributors supplying customers in over 60 countries

worldwide.

Sepura offers the largest and most comprehensive range of TETRA terminals. Its products are available across the entire spectrum of TETRA frequency bands and operate on all manufacturers' infrastructures.

The service division is managed by a configuration manager which is supported by a

service supervisor with field and bench technicians

All product offerings are supported by Global’s engineering services, which include:

Global’s engineering services are provided by a four-tiered system where each tier represents a competency level: i.e. engineer, technical specialist, senior technical
