PASTA BOWL IS COMING!!GES will be collecting dry pasta to support the HamiltonSoutheastern Schools Foundation beginning next week. Thisyearly food drive supports local food pantries and families inneed within Hamilton County. “The PastaBowl providesstudents with an opportunity to give back by donating pasta attheir school and helping stock area food banks while raisingawareness about food insecurities. Last year over 14,000pounds of pasta was donated,” said long-time organizer andHSE School Board member John Delucia. In 2017, the pasta collected beneted 46 local food banks andorganizations. This year, organizers are hoping to increase theaverage amount per school as it is estimated that 1 in 7 HSEstudents struggle with hunger. The pasta is a core staple forarea food banks and comes at an essential time during the pre-holiday months when donations are often critically low.
