The Collaborative Networks Program Coordinator will be a member of GF’s Collaborative Networks program team and will support the development of its current collaboration, the Cancer Free Economy (CFE) Network. The CFE Network is a newly emergent strategic action network of leaders and organizations from across the health, labor, and environment fields. Objectives over the next year include developing aligned strategies and network infrastructure that will support the elimination of toxic substances associated with cancer and other diseases. In the Garfield Foundation’s experience, intentionally aligning the efforts of multiple stakeholders based on a shared understanding of the system that the stakeholders are seeking to reform will produce more sustained progress faster than unaligned or only loosely aligned efforts. The Garfield Foundation endeavors to facilitate indepth analysis and engagement that would otherwise not likely occur. To support the program the Garfield Foundation is seeking a fulltime Collaborative Networks Program Coordinator. This position is based in the Foundation’s Lafayette, California office and will work closely with the Collaborative Network program's senior staff. Main Areas of Responsibility include: Project Management Support and work with GF’s senior CN program team to facilitate and manage the CFE Network’s development including: coordinate Design Team (GF program directors, facilitation and systems analysis consultants, and CFE leadership) meeting agendas, coordinate schedules, and documents. Track meeting outcomes and deliverables and execute effective information exchange that will capture progress and facilitate on going progress. Engage in decisions regarding meeting design and logistics including taking the lead on organizing small CFE Design Team meetings and, liaising with external meeting organizer for larger gatherings. Team Facilitation Manage CFE consultants and Design Team online meetings. Support and cofacilitate in person meetings (intentionally cultivating skills) with senior consultants from Vibrancy Institute and Grove Consultants International (GF’s partners in designing the CFE Network).

    Team Communication Take the lead on keeping CFE teams (both Design and consultant facilitation teams)

    informed of the whole, prepare and distribute regular status reports to Network via the CFE intranet. Moderate participant groups and discussions. Assist in implementing Network communications infrastructure.

    Project Documentation

    Curate and summarize activities and reflections from around the Network to support and facilitate collaboration among members. For example, interview participants and recruit guest bloggers from the Network. Help ensure that Network meeting artifacts (in a variety of media) are shared on the intranet and organized for future use.

    Specific tasks Shadow consultants through project and communicate work to CFE Network Proactively plan agenda for meetings - in person and online Lead meeting preparation and support facilitation (notifications, scheduling polls,

    reminders, templates for notes) Ensure follow-up tasks are assigned and accomplished Summarize and communicate weekly activities via Intranet Oversee project dashboard for quick view of events, schedules, status, etc. Maintain project management system and schedule Look for opportunities to keep systems and communication simple, transparent and

    effective

    Skills The Garfield Foundation seeks a candidate who is: Detail oriented and well organized Minimum of five years professional work experience Interested in a team approach to co-creating new ways of problem solving Understands and is inspired by systems analysis of complex problems Proactive and able to work autonomously Open to learning and innovation A great communicator Common software and online tool literate The Collaborative Network Program Coordinator position is based in the Garfield Foundations Lafayette, California office, near BART. Some off-site travel is required, including attending local and national CFE Network convenings. While a minimum education achievement of a Bachelors degree is expected, the full breadth of candidates experience will be considered.
